The point missed by people who live in first world country is mid range is super important for us. Sometimes we have to consider 10$ price different. Because is worth for days of living. Besides all of that i also think older flagships are usually better. But Samsung offer 4 years update for A series which is very unusual for mid or mid-low range.

As an S23 Ultra user, I bought the A34 as a backup phone and I was expecting it to be lacking, but honestly it really surprised me just how good it is. No performance issues and a really vibrant bright screen, it looks more premium than you'd expect and I love the fact it has expandable storage. If my S23 Ultra went missing I would be happy to use this as my main phone until I got it back.

And I fully accept that I live in an affluent country and earn a decent wage. But I always have a spare phone, which I use for various projects and testing, and if my main phone had to be repaired or if it was lost, I would have a spare phone that I have synchronised all my apps and settings with. I may also be in an environment where my S23 Ultra might get damaged, so I might use the backup phone instead. I did get the A34 at a heavily discounted price too. I really like the A34 and I consider it the perfect midranger.

S23 is best no surprise, but thing is In my country s23 is 700euros and a54 is 370euros. So as someone who use phone as a phone, no gaming (have pc for that) a54 looks good,having 90% capability of s23 in half the price.

If you don't use a phone as a pocket workstation the A54 is a clear choice. I am amazed by the low light photos when my friend bought A54. It is brighter without flash than my a40 with flash.

​@unholydonuts the cameras are the same from the S23 series lmao stop hating the pictures are pretty much on par with the S23 and the chips use a new node so its much more efficient than the SD 8 Gen 1 and the Exynos 2200 from the S22... You can find S23FE for super cheap during holidays so its a good phone for the price

A34 definitely , if you take too much selfie go with a54 or s21 fe

My wife started using the A14 a couple of days ago. She mostly uses it to read reddit, takes some pictures here and there and does some very light gaming and youtube. The phone is more than perfect for her. For anyone using their phone similarly. There is no point in going for a more expensive device.

I ordered the A34 a few days ago, it seems like a great budget phone and I didn't get the A54 since there seems to be not that big of a difference between the two (in terms of my personal needs from a phone) for more than 100 bucks price difference. Some people say I should have gotten the S21 instead since it is just 200 ish bucks more for a flagship phone but I don't know if I agree. (plus $200+ is a big sum of money for me, a full-time student)

The only problem with the 34 in the United States is it doesn't support 5g band 71 . That is a main midband band for T-Mobile 5G.

i bought a A54 and i will say i love it and its great to ditch iphone 14 and enjoy once again another great samsung device, i also love the microSD slot that it has as well can go up to 1TB and external storage i went with a 256gb Samsung EVO+ microSD card and man i love this feature a lot.. i have bought the A53 as much i didnt find it was a bad phone, the A54 is a HUGE improvement over the A53.

A34 is Better Than A54 Because Plastic is better than glass for phone

A34's camera quality looks closer to s23. People only hating on A34 because of infinity u display while Iphone 14 has a grand canyon notch display. I prefer A34 over A54 because of the chipset, bigger screen, and better camera quality.

Thank you!! The A34 definitely is better!! It's not available here in the US sadly but I still ordered one today from Amazon and it's arriving tomorrow! Hopefully 4G LTE works great on my Google Fi service here 🙏 I also agree, everyone bching over a notch that isn't worse than iPhones and I rather that than a big hole in the middle of the screen because it looks terrible when playing games or watching KZread. I wish more phone companies would do what Sony is doing, no notch or hole punch

I really liked the way you compare phones. It is a more truthful and fair scientific comparison. It is the most informative and intuitive review I have seen so far on youtube. 👍

The A34 looks to me to have the best balance of performance, processor, cameras, battery life and price. The A54 costs significantly more in the UK, has less good battery life and the cameras seems only slightly better, at times perhaps less good. It's nice to have the 4k video shooting on both but without stabilization available it's pretty pointless, 1080 with stabilization is nearly always going to be better.

Yh a54 really should have had wireless charging to make it worth the price difference for me, not spending s23 money for marginal improvements and wireless charging so waiting for pixel 8a as an upgrade to my pixel 3, which is still awesome after all these years, just no more updates which makes me uncomfortable otherwise I'd feel no need to upgrade

Bought the a14 a month ago. Really good phone for the price. Only 2 things I see as drawbacks the speaker is bad. But I Bluetooth or use the wired headphones then the Dolby Atmos kicks in. Also only 64 gigs of storage but I got a micro SD card to move my pics & videos to.

Absolute power and polish goes to rhe s23. The a54 is good value and the a34 isn't too far behind the a54 (especially in chipset performance). The A14 would only be suitable for someone on really tight inelastic budget

I have been using the A54 for the past 6 months and I must say it is really good. It looks amazing and the photography and videography is amazingly good . Though the Exynos chipset, I do not feel it would affect the everyday usage, unless you want to game a lot, and use the device for high end tasks.

Bought the A34 Silver 256G as my secundary but premium experience workphone. This colour looks awesome and no worries about the backglass breaking. I compare this to my S20FE, which is bang for the bucks, and I do not notice much of a difference ; image quality looks the same but the speakers of the A34 sounds slightly richer/warmer. The A34 is overal the best phone for the price.

Very good video,highlights and compares the differences in the phones very well.

I don't know about the other devices but I own a A34, S21FE. The speaker output on the A34 is mind blowing!! The S21FE stereo output is 25% of the A34. I can hear a lot more detail, subtle sounds in A34! In a way I regret buying the S21FE!!

Galaxy S21's 64MP mode destroys even Galaxy S23 Ultra's 50MP mode during sunny days. It's the most detailed phone camera to day. However, night time photos are the opposite, with S23 Ultra's 50MP mode being better than S21's 64MP mode.

If you want a large battery capacity with a good processor choose a54 if you have less budget choose the other A series.if you don't mind about battery but the wanting the best processor,choose s23

I bought an A54 because my S20 FE is starting to crap out, the A54 has a MicroSD card slot, and I can't stomach buying one of those flagship smartphones that cost $1,000. It suits my purpose. I'm not a gamer, so a faster processor is not an issue. The main camera on the A54 or similar to the S20 FE, although I give the the S20 FE a slight edge on flash pictures. The macro camera is nice, but without a need to photograph bugs from 3 - 5 cm away, I doubt I'll be using it. The wide angle lens is also good, but I'll probably not use it much either. 3x zoom on the S20 FE is better because it has optical zoom at that setting, but at 2x I give the A54 a slight edge. When putting these phones in a Unicorn Beetle Pro case (my favorite) they look almost identical. Anyway, the phone is enough for me. Maybe in about a year I'll move on to another phone.

Got the a34 for 300$ im so happy with it its my favorite Phone ever!!

Loved the comparison. After days of comparing I bought A54. From first day it was getting too hot and battery draining very fast. I had to charge 2times on first day. Then I did factory reset on day two and now it runs like ferrari.

I also have the A54 now the 256GB Awesome lime version as a second phone to play with and for work and it's really a little more than a midrange phone! It's smooth the 120hz refresh rate works and feels the same as my S23+, sometimes i think why would you buy a flagship if you almost can have the same experience with a midrange device like this for half of the price?

That s23 is lovely.

In the video tests I noticed that the A series devices have problems with abruptly changing exposure. They are switching from bright to dark many times while the S23 makes smooth and barely noticeable transitions. The most extreme example is the audio test at 5:44.

This video gave me alot of information about the 2 phones I had in mind A23 and A54 now I'm even more confused on which one to buy now since it seems like you recommending the A23

i notice the color differences.. i will always chose the one with close to reality image output..

Looking to retire my beloved S20 FE 5G. i believe the A34 would do the job despite having a notch (which i dont really care about anyways) and only support quarterly updates... why i should pay more only to receive monthly updates. the a34 packs most of a54's features with better chip, ip67 rating and literally about the same hardware found on the a54. Would still use the s20 fe 5g for missing features such dex mode, but overall the a34 should have about 90% of that phone's features, including 120hz panel, better battery and amazing software support.

just got the A54, already had the A52, but I also have the S8 which I find to be still an excellent phone. I do not play big games on the phone and I use the A54 for work photos of Tech stuff and such for reference and also drone flying which I also appreciate the extra brightness outdoors. The S8 I use for personell phonecalls. I also appreciate the 3.5 jack on the S8 and A52 but really like the FM radio on the S8. Being at a game and listning to Net radio is no fun as it is 20 to 40 seconds behind the live game in front of you,

I have just purchased the A34 today so haven't had the experience of using it yet. I would have gone for the A54 but I was restricted to budget. I am sure though it will be a lot better than the A12 it is replacing.

Very informative content, thanks! It seems I made the right choice to go with the Motorola Edge+ 2022. It is a pseudo-flagship rocking a Snapdragon 8 gen 1, 6.7" 144hz screen, and fast charging. It feels 85-90% as good as my Pixel 7 Pro. The 10-15% reduction vs the & Pro is due to speakers, fingerprint and face ID sensor, body materials, and the camera. Note that he Motorola actually has all the same features of 7 Pro and actually a few more, but some are just better implemented on the 7 Pro. List price directly from Motorola is $500 I believe. But I got mine from Boost mobile for $200. I then got it gsm-unlocked for $3.50 off Ebay after a month.

@NoLuv4Hoz Well, I own an a54, and let me tell you, on the first day of use, people always told me, "Did you get the S23?". Well apart from the camera and the intense gaming and multitasking it's basically the same as the S23. It has the power of a nowadays iPhone 12.

I cant deny the A54 is decent phone for its price, but it is the Exynos chip inside mainly, I simply dont trust Exynos after issues with A53/A33, S22, S21, S20.... I would certainly go for Snapdragon in S23/S23+ or for budget backup Meditek A34. Or get Oneplus Nord 3

Had a 54 5g for 2 months now. Came form a 4 year old note 9. Photos sometimes not so good tiny bit of lag, but its just been upgraded so let see. Overall pretty happy

Have been using A54 for past two months. People are complaining about Exynos 1380 chipset , but here's the catch. Exynos chipsets take time to be fully optimised. It's been almost a year since it's release, and i can guarantee that the performance has improved pretty well. I can play PUBG in HDR with ultra frame rate and smooth with Extreme Frame rate which wasn't the case at the time of its release. So trust me, you won't regret buying A54 even if you're a gamer. It's best from display, camera, build quality, battery backup, water and dust resistant and not to mention decent gaming performance. Not the best gaming out there, but not bad or laggy. I would say enough performance.

Just bought a a34 for $239 usd. The only thing I'm concerned with is it does not support band n71, which is a main mid range 5g band in the usa. The processor is better than the 54 even though it's technically smaller. Just optimized much better and doesn't have the overheating issues .The 54 was not worth the $120 up charge over the a34. 5 years of security update has what sold me. Coming from an LG V60.

@@hayyanalmemsani805 the photos I've taken have actually come out rather well. Much much better than I expected knowing the specs of the phone. They look like they are from a camera with higher megapixels. I took some video of Halloween stuff last night and it came out pretty good. My only complaint with the camera is you don't have a consistent Zoom. If you zoom in or out it will jump right to your desired distance, not gradually. I live in a major city so reception isn't terrible. I'm yet to test it out in the country. Remember this phone was not made for the United States Market.

there's something I noticed throughout the comparison is that the A14 5G and normal A14 have different upper cameras, I use a normal A14 which comes with an ultra-wide camera while the 5G has a depth camera instead. I'm new to the channel and I doubt you'll read my comment, but could you do a comparison between the two A14s if you find other differences?

Thanks to your video i ordered the s23. It is the best samsung phone at the moment. Was in between the a54 and the s23...but i guess the s23 is a little bit better.

To me the A34 is. €100 less expensive than the A54 as has a plastic casing which I prefer over metal. 6gb RAM is plenty for casual gaming and what not. The RAM and update policy are my main topics, cpu and casing is second.

One thing. Whenever you're telling about some image defects or something...please do zoom in and show. That makes it much easier

I was between S23 and A54 for my mother. Picked up S23 and she's very happy!

How different are the cameras between the S23 and S23+?

A54 has much better selfie camera and somewhat better main camera. I bought the A34 for my aunt, and the A54 for my mom. I have S21 Ultra refurbished, which is 100 euro more than a new A54, so that was my personal choice.

Low-light in S23 is better: it is not just raising brightness, it's preserving the contrast and brightness information *between* pixels, while A54 is just cranking up brightness to the point of saturating the background.

would the A73 be a good contender here as well? it may be the S23 FE version now and the A7x series is being discontinued now right?

one big thing u missed is only the s23 and a54 have one ui 6, while the a34 goes up to 5, and a14 only has one ui core which misses some really cool features

I prefer indoor pictures from the A54 Outdoor is totally different and if the zokm was better outside the A54 would be the winner

Phones like Oneplus and Pixel give you more value for the money , expand your scope of shopping, don't limit yourself to Apple and Samsung

Im very happy with my a53...so i suppose a54 must be better....but if you have the money....go for the s23...its what im doing soon

Went from s10 to a34. Much better battery. Worse camera and less ram though.

I have the S23 Ultra and old Note 20 Ultra: The best buy out from the four of those smartphone is S23, now your able to purchase it cheaper with a good discount because it's not far off from the S24 range launching which is Februrary 2024. In this case would pay £200-£250 more from the A54 and buy the S23. You should be able to buy it around £699. Plus your getting 5 years IOS updates!

A54 to me takes the W is because it has microSD. S series line removed it completely from their phone and I enjoy having this functionality. 1T is too expensive on the S phone so A series it is for me!

Well.. as long time a series user, it's good enough daily phone for a non heavy gamer like me.

Iam using the a53 5g really nice phone moved up from a12 oppo54s

A14 CPU differs greatly by country. USA gets a crap cpu and gpu in that phone. India gets one much better to compete with cheap Chinese phones.

Just picked up an A54 at Walmart for $139. I don't bother to use the cord that came with it. I just plug it into a standard wall charger and it charges just fine.

I very tech savvy and I own the a14 5g is extremely good tbh and it's very cheap you can get the a54 if you want for better camera and performance and better look and 120hz

Can these phone use external mics like a lavalier mic if I use the type-c to 3.5mm audio jack?

Ayo where is the Samsung A73? It's a beast from the A series.

People , nothing can mean to be better as long as they keep on making a new model. Is a mind and financial control. I don't play game, I pay what I needed.

If I were to take one of these phones overseas on an extended period of time in an area such as Thailand or any other surrounding countries which would be the better choice.

Next include the S21 FE, as it goes between S23 and A54

i did say s20 fe 5g is better than both the s21 fe and a54 you get 120hz, dex, snapdragon 865 processor, sd card support, strereo speakers and much more. the only con is that it maxed on android 13, but still custom roms are possible if you wish to keep the device up-to date

@@Lilybellfan lol no, the only pro it gets against S21 FE is the efficiency of its chipset but other than that S21 FE is better in all other components

I have an A14 and it's so good compared with his price the only problem it's the battery it's like the iphone battery

I see a lot of phone reviewers recommending buying an older flagship instead of a new midrange phone. This really bugs me because yes, you are going to get better specs but what they don't seem to appreciate is the lack of OS and security updates in the following years. If you buy a brand new A54 today you will get 4 years of Android and 5 years of security updates. If you buy an S21, you will only get a couple of years of updates before you start running the risk of your phone no longer being secure - great when you do stuff like online banking on your phone! My next phone will be an A54. The main reasons being price and those 5 years of security updates. Not even google offers that.

nah man. You'll be getting the same updates just like the latest phone. I bought myself s21 fe and it will get the 4year of Android and 5 years of secuirty update.

Indeed, i was also thinking about that part. And apart from security, i am noticing since recently (on my current a5 from 2017) that certain apps that need to be updated, are not compatible anymore with older android versions. This is even more annoying to me. So im stuck with this phone on Android 8 and the newest app version requires at least android 9. Since the a54 is already like a year old, even on that phone you already lose a year of update support
