Thank you so much this is extremely helpful, I too have spent 20minutes struggling to work out how to release the pipe without success. I respect you for not only working out how to separate the pipe but also to have the time to post it for mere ordinary folk such as me. THANK YOU.

Well my good man, I followed your exact instructions and how to disconnect this line and it's still would not disconnect no matter what we tried and we tried and did not succeed. I have done other fridges before with similar connections but this one would not disconnect and I do not know why I tried everything and did not succeed but thank you for posting this video

Thank you! (This was frustrating. Even the manual didn't give good instructions.) If your colors don't match his (mine was red instead of grey), the tube that disconnects is connected to the fridge (not the door).

Actually, you just push in on the center gray thing on the other side and it pops apart. No tools needed. To reattach, just push them together. Just installed my Samsung fridge last week and had to remove the doors to get it in the house.

You must have stronger fingers than me. I couldn't compress the fitting without using something metal that slipped along the tube. Didn't have to be a tool, but it's what I had handy.

If your connection does not look exactly like this then beware! The kind of connection I was trying to release had a thin 'collar' around the hose right where it disappears into the connector. I mashed it up pretty bad trying this method, in the end it turns out that the collar actually pushes back toward the connector (only by maybe 1mm or 1.5mm) and that is enough to allow the hose to slide out.

I'm sorry this happened. My collar pushes back in as well. The pliers are not intended to grip the tube or collar, just slide the open part along the tube to apply even pressure to top and bottom of the collar to push it back in. If you have a small enough key wrench, it would do the same thing.

The trick is to slide the gray part on the right back into the white body, while pulling gently on the black tube. You wont be able to use your fingers to push the gray part in, so you need something that can slide along the black tube without pinching it. A tiny key wrench might also work, but the hole on my pliers was perfect for me. Hope that helps.
