Hello Jerry, That was a lovely round up of Sammy Davis's life and achievements. I wasn't aware that he'd started in the game so young. I was aware that he did a regular routine with his uncle, but not his dad. And the only film I was aware that he'd acted in was ('Carmen') I think, I'm not entirely sure. And I'd happen to catch that film on KZread during the Pandemic. He was absolutely brilliant in it, just outstanding really. Infact to me, he outshone Belafonte. Great video as always, Mr. Skinner. I've always been a big fan of Sammy's. 😊 Speaking of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, check out the book called "Lewis and Martin," written by Jerry Lewis. I always loved Dean, but thought Jerry was just a loudmouth, until i read this book. It truly is a lovestory and showed a compassionate, loving side of Jerry I wouldn't have thought existed. One of my favorite books of all time. 💙

I saw a interview with Jerry Lewis decades ago, when he was so large he was unrecognizable. One of the drugs he had to take was responsible for the massive weight gain. The interview was going well, until the interviewer started bad mouthing Dean. It only took a VERY SHORT time, before Jerry had enough. Jerry "explained" rather angrily that, if it hadn't been for Dean... he wouldn't be interviewed.... because he would have never made it in show business. That it was DEAN that was the talent. That is was DEAN that was the natural comedian. That it was DEAN that was responsible for their success. And, that he didn't blame Dean for getting tired of being just the straight guy... when he had more talent in his pinky... than Jerry had in is whole body. When Frank talked Dean into surprising Jerry at his telethon, Jerry was touched. But... in only a few minutes... it reverted back into Dean being the straight man for Jerry. Out of respect for Dean, Jerry ended the segment quickly... since he could see Dean was getting uneasy about it. When Dean lost his son, Jerry knew he would never get over it... and he didn't.

I just wish he'd done a lot more acting.

Thank you Jerry. A memorable documentary. The original Oceans 77 was still the best one. It’s awful Kennedys used Sinatra like that.
Thank you again Jerry.
Well done, Jerry.

@@UncommonWoman1611 He was in 2 episodes I believe. He was really good with gun tricks. Not so much shooting but other tricks and quick draws. It was part of his act in different performances long before he appeared on the show. Definitely a very interesting talented man!!!
Once again an excellent excellent job
Thank you....
thanks again jerry.
Great job Jerry
Sammy Davis could do everything!

I liked when Sammy made a few guest appearances on The Rifleman. He sure worked hard for his success, and definitely deserved it! To you Jerry, you are a legend as well. "Nobody" can tell a story better than you! You're such a natural. You definitely have a gift! Thank you for so many gripping, exciting, and entertaining stories! There's only 'one" Jerry Skinner!
These documentaries are excellent case studies on why you should never smoke.
Jerry, you are the best!
went to see him in Las Vegas and during his act, he said I have a friend here to entertain you. it was Bill Cosby, and Bill did about half an hour of Humer, it was great ps he also danced and did impersonations
Best all round entertainer
Excellent
As with all your episodes nicely done
Fantastic !!!!!! //Lars
Master performance Jerry
Great talent! 👏🔥👏🔥👏
The Candy Man was thoroughly detested by Sammy Davis Jr. He hated the lyrics especially, calling them "syrupy" and saccharine. And yet it revived his career. Talk about irony.
Of THEM ALL, ammy Davis Jr could TRULY SAY: 'I DID IT MY WAY'!!! ✍️
Thanks Jerry. I always loved Sammy Davis Jr as a kid. I had never heard the childhood stories about him. My mom told me about the racist Vegas hotel stories. My great grandparents lived in Vegas and my mom spent a lot of time there.
Always the king, baby.
"He did it all" Nice to read that on his epitaph
