Your documentaries are wonderful. My mom met Tony in 1950, when she was working as a receptionist at Universal Studios on 5th Ave, NYC. She saw him every day for two weeks. Other women who worked at the studio asked mom if she wanted to trade places with them while Tony was at the studio. She told them to get lost.........

No parent is obligated to leave their worldly possessions to their children when their spouse is still living. When my stepfather died, it all rightfully went to my mother. In 1950, mom was the screening room receptionist at Universal Studios when it was located on 5th Avenue in NYC. Tony was there with then-wife Janet Leigh. Mom gave him his mail every morning for two weeks. He was 26 and she was 16. She said he was the most gorgeous man she'd ever seen.

Hi Jerry, actually at the 30th Academy Awards in 1957 Alec Guinness won Best Actor, the following year in 1958 Tony Curtis was nominated for Best Actor along with Sidney Poitier but it went to David Niven for his performance in Separate Tables! Still its a fine tribute to Tony Curtis!!

Tony Curtis was a favourite actor of mine. You say that Houdini came out in 1953 which means I could have seen it at the Bayview theatre in Toronto when I was only 5. This may have occurred but since I have a strong memory of that entire movie I think I was at least a couple of years later than this. Maybe the manager brought it in as an older movie. Through my teens I saw all the light romantic comedies he was in with my girlfriend Christine. I always found you could count on a Tony Curtis movie. I later gained respect for his serious acting. Thanks for this.

Jerry Skinner: Well done!!! I met Mr. Curtis very briefly in 1979. He was making a racehorse picture called "Little Miss Marker" in Santa Rosa, Calif. It was a remake of a Adolph Mengue and Shirley Temple movie. Mr Curtis's Characters name was Blackie, a Bookie. I was hired on as Rangler taking care of the horeses and as an extra. My father who was a Professional Jockey along with other jockeys rode the horses in the movie. One day I was walking to lunch and on my way past Mr Curtis and we gave each other a professional greeting and walked on. On my way back I noticed Mr. Curtis was riding a horse with my Dad's saddle underneath. Just thought I'd share that with y'all. Thank you.

Wow! That was an incredibly good production. I’ve always been a admirer of Tony Curtis. This documentary certainly did him and his family a great service. Many details that are not highlighted in his many interviews. The only thing that seems to be missing was that he also wrote an autobiography that is still available. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and the gentleman who narrates has a wonderful almost whimsical tone that comes easy and smoothly. Very professional but also personable. I’ll be looking through some more of these to put in the Watchlist for later. Great job.

He used to host a show called Hollywood Babylon, where he woudl share personal tidbits at the end of him and his career in Hollywood's Golden Age. One story i always remember was the one he told of when he had first adopted his stage name of Tony Curtis (as he was born Bernie Schwartz), and had been practicing his 'new' introduction for Hollywood parties , saying 'hi im tony curtis, hi im tony curtis' in hopes to work his old name out of his mouth. He had met someone, i cannot remember whom but he was nervous in their meeting, and when he went to introduce himself he said 'hi im bernie schwartz' lolololol
