He should have won it against Roman at EC then Roman and Bloodline "injure" him to take the belt off. It would have been a good way to reward Sami for the work he put it and then Roman could win the title back and say, I am running it back another 1000 days or whatever it was and Roman could of had motive to beat his own record. Sami could have won the title and Cody could win it the way he did So basically Sami wins the title, then he gets injured Raw after PLE and then Roman wins the tournament for the vacated title, or WWE management could just give it to him(for heat) but then when Roman wins at WM 39 you are going oh crap, he really is going to beat his own record. And then when The Rock came back you would be thinking OH CRAP Cody doesn't even get to fight him now because they want Roman to beat his own record and it would of made this story even bigger. That would have been cool. Then if you wanted to Sami could go heel and face Cody but why do that when you have 2 big baby faces.

It was NOT only because of Sami. He did revitalize the story at one point, but the true heart of that story atleast in part 1 was Jey. Sami joining the bloodline was a huge part of Jeys character development.

So much hate on Sami here. I know from being jn the stadium people were ecstatic to see him beat Gunther. Makes sense as now Gunther can go onto bigger and better things like king of the ring and the world title. That said, Sami should have a short run on top like Foely did, as an underdog who eventually puts

I don’t see that - I think your probabilities are backward. Under Vince he was doing comedy matches and getting killed by Braun Strowman. Under HHH he’s been in two huge Wrestlemania matches in two years and won titles at both.

​@@philmole1209Yeah, I don't know where people got this narrative from that he was better under vince. He was fine for what he was, but vince saw him as nothing more than a comedy act. He was supposed to have a eugene like role in the bloodline, but he obviously bypassed that and made his role so much bigger and legendary, especially when hhh took over. Under vince his probability of becoming world champion was next to zero. He was gonna be stuck in the mid card forever. Now he's one of the top guys. He'll never be "The guy". But now you definitely can't think of a wrestlemania without sami zayn or a big PLE event. He's gonna get his flowers one day it's just hhh likes to do long title reigns but hopefully his day comes sooner than later.

Cody is the company’s #1 baby face rn..his story had 2 years worth of work before he won the title…he beat Roman who had it for 1300 days..they won’t allow him to lose it for at least 6 months and tbh that’s wishful thinking i wouldn’t be surprised if he held it until wrestlemania

@@djtv6618but just cuz his story to capture the title took forever.. it shouldnt mean that he has a long ass title reign just because of it.. thats too predictable and makes the ppvs boring and makes his title defenses generic in my eyes.. it would be awesome if he lost the title atleast twice within the next year, then by the time the rock gets back at mania cody could possible be a 3 time wwe champ.. roman should be the last guy for a long time to have a year plus title reign cuz that reign is what made roman special.. if everyone in the modern era has a super lomg title reign then romans reign wont feel special anymore.. thats why everyone was hyped when roman surpassed punks reign because long reigns hadnt been done in 10 years… only really special individuals deserve that longgggggggg reign and im sorry but cody doesnt feel like a long reign type of champ right now.. i rather solo win it from him and then cody wins it back and then by mania he has to deal with the final boss the rock for it

Sami Zayn is a Triple H guy. He was fond of him when he was in NXT and even in the HOF, Sami was seated behind Triple H. Triple H also believed in Sami enough to have him be the one to beat a guy like Gunther who was this invincible monster heel IC champion. So I do believe Hunter will do right by Sami and have him win the WHC title at least once and give him a decent and respectable reign

I like Sami and I always have since nxt, one thing that I feel holds him back is that he doesn’t put enough effort into his body aesthetically. He’s tall and has great promos and great in ring ability. I know he’s had bad shoulder injuries and I’m sure that might be part of the reason why but if he just put a little more emphasis (not saying he doesn’t try) to add more stock to his presentation I think he could be a world champion.

my guess is that its just not a lot of time, and if he isnt showing the propensity to divulge that, then the viewers would rather hear the later questions.

Can he? Devinitely. Wil he? Depends on the circumstances.

I’m not hating on Sami Zayn but I don’t think that people’s perception of him equals “ champion material “ and I like to think that’s something in regards to the character , I just think the undisputed title or “ in a way “ the heavyweight championship dosent need certain people holding it. That was the problem with Vince is that he would give them the title and there’s a whole lot lacking beneath the surface outside of “ they ain’t booking them correctly “ so I’m not giving Sami hate but I ain’t interested in seeing him being champ rn until otherwise.

I just commented something similar he has all the tool, but if he put more emphasis into his presentation more specifically his figure I feel would help to the casual eye of being world champion material.

That's the spirit. I am here to do my job. I hope it happens. But if it doesn't. Life goes on.

I could see him winning the World Heavyweight or the WWE title if he wins Money in the Bank one of these years. If he loses the IC title at KQTOR it's possible he's in the MITB match in July and there's a chance he could win, but I feel like Gunther and Jey Uso have a better case, Solo Sikoa has a better case, they could provide better storylines in the next few months. I feel like Sami is a 4th or 5th pick and a good guy holding on to the briefcase for too long doesn't feel right.

Sami and Kevin need to end up in aew and every august you get to go to Wembley

I don’t care for Sammy zayn’s wrestling but guy has promo skills and great ideas . That being said wwe knows him and to elevate this guy to his status and deny him the world title is dumb . Why WWE keeps pushing him to that level and not seeing him at that level is stupid . Sami will get his day. It will happen if they keep him around he will definitely have his time no doubt about it. He had a great career as a wrestler without being a world champion I feel he will end on a high note.

If Cody eventually turns heel, he will need a big time babyface to take the belt off him. Sami could slide into that role, him or LA Knight.

I get what Sami is saying and he may be right. But as long as there are two world titles, i think he has a chance for a short sentimental title reign kind of like Mick Foleys first world title reign.

Vince booked him to lose to Johnny Knoxville, Triple H had him nearly beat Roman and main event WrestleMania.

He didn’t win at EC and it felt he would never win it post that. He was mega gigantic over at that time. It’s pretty evident they don’t want him as a world champion. As for the fans who say no, there was jinder who won it. Sami is way more deserving than that dude. I am not saying push him to the moon but he does have an underdog story which can be used to have a final payoff.

The dude had one of the best build storylines with the Bloodline last year. After Sami and Kevin won the tag belts at WM, Triple H made them complete afterthoughts and killed their momentum. Now Sami is in a Diet Coke version of this but with the IC title belt and it feels like rinse and repeat. I don't think he can become world champion when there are better candidates (Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre).

It's more of an HHH problem, the World Title scene is dead basically bcs the rivalry was Jey vs Damian, now the only thing that will save the title is Drew and Punk. It's like HHH has a lack of experience in knowing how to book good TV constantly. He could've pulled the trigger with Sami last year, for instance.

Modern Day Mick Foley

WWE seems to be going back to protecting the title and creating meaningful title reigns. This means Sami will never be champion since he could never be more than a 1 month champion because he lacks too many things. During Vince's era it was possible to get the title and then lose it the next week. Titles were heavily devalued. And because of that smaller guys had a shot at them but not for good reasons.

He’s the type of guy who can win the secondary world title, but not the main prize.

I see sami winning it one time or two and never again, mick foley type wwe run.

I dont think hes a main event,box office attraction.great at what he does,but lets face it,hes not the guy to carry a top organisation.

i think he's definitely world heavyweight champion material but i only see him as a wwe champion if a bunch of people get injured. a skinny red headed bearded dude just isnt typically what wwe is looking for in a wwe champ.

I hope they don’t make Pumba WWE Champion. He really doesn’t have what it takes to lead a company. KO does. Sami Zayn feels too much like a Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey, very good wrestler and story teller, but just not a main star. They don’t have “IT” IDK though Punk doesn’t have “IT” either and cannot fight for real and is a loser in real life, so who knows maybe he’ll be champion, but Drew and Priest and people like them have “IT”
