It makes sense. What wrestler, even top wrestler, wouldn't want to have a big match with him? Taker making him his last ever opponent is the highest praise you can get.

Jericho = Great despite the finish Shane = Awesome Shinsuke = technically, a master class of pro wrestling but it sadly doesn’t compare to the WK match. If WM was Two Nights back then, I think it would have benefited. Randy = Good Undertaker = One of a kind in a good way! New Day = easy win Edge = Good, I think the Backlash match was better. LA Knight = Great, throwback match.

Considering Taker's age/injuries a cinematic match was the best option. It ended the best way possible.

Random thought, but I would love to see AJ in a money in the bank ladder match and win. He’d be a phenomenal MITB briefcase holder , especially right now while he’s a heel. Plus it doesn’t matter who the champion that he ends up facing is, since AJ has the ability to have a 5 star classic with anyone on any given night.

As much as I enjoyed the cinematic finish for Taker's last match, I really wish he and AJ got the match they both deserved in a Wrestlemania crowd. No squash match like he did with Cena at 34, an actual proper finale match. Despite the wear and tear on Taker, I really do believe AJ with his smaller build wouldve allowed Taker to perform well with far less strain than working with a bigger guy like Reigns or Lesnar. To change the final result though, that's a tougher call. On one hand, it would be good to see still pull off one last win at WM for a feel good ending. There's also something to be said having AJ hit the final nail of the coffin of Taker's career. The third and final strike also sounds poetic and would definitely allow the feeling that this is truly the end, the Undertaker has been put to rest with this final defeat. But, thats just me riffing on it. What we got is still pretty cool.
