I recently started delving into the witchy path about a month or two ago (after much deliberation and inner battles) and since have been accumulating crystals. Oddly enough most of them are ones that Hearth has mentioned in this video! I guess Spirit really wants Samhain to be my first official sabbat!

I tend to use purple and silver for Samhain instead. I feel these colours suit it better because I associate them with spirits and psychic connection, plus in Australia I feel Samhain is more winter than Autumn so those cool colours feel more in tune to the season

I'll be hosting a small Samhain ritual for close friends this year! I'm making butternut squash and lentil soup for dinner with brown bread, and pumpkin bundt cake for dessert to share with my guests.

LOL I often joke that I sit in the broom closet with the door open. Most of my close friends are aware that I am Pagan, but I do have some family and other acquaintances who just kinda joke about me being a witch, or they think this is just a phase. A 20 year phase, but a phase nonetheless.

Samhain plans... day of honouring the ancestors, doing spiritual work and readings, a moon water bath... and going to watch the new Maleficent film and fireworks thereafter 😁

Im working with Santa Muerte(the mexican deity of death) this Samhain, I'm trying something different, its also a ritual which I'm working with someone else. Its goal is for ease of transition for the dead during this period.🧡🥧🎃

Very thankful for this video. My husband and I were handfasted on Samhain in 2009. It is my favorite holiday. I feel Samhain-ey all year, and dress it...lol. My kids love it. My birthday is nearly on the day. I have been looking for more ways to share with my family the wheel of the year way to celebrate, rather than just "Halloween" style. Thank you.

Hey guys... One thing typically found on North American altars this time of year are skulls in honor of the ancestors corn husk poppets black hats and apples and bay leaves... Remember that when an 🍎 is turned in its side and sliced in halve there is a pentacle at it's heart. When you pin a bay leaf to that and empower it with the intention of protection you have a very simple yet efficient protection charm. Any other questions feel free to ask.

It's funny you mention Marigold, in Mexico we celebrate the day of the dead in almost the exact same dates as Samhain and there are core similarities between the two. In Mexico we use a flower called Cempasúchil or Aztec Marigold. This flower is placed in altars and around cemeteries as a way to guide the spirits of the dead towards their homes and the altars placed in their name. it was believed that the flower would retain the warmth and light of the sun and would serve as a way to light their path. It's a very important and symbolic flower in Mexico so I thought maybe you'd find this interesting. Thank you for all your witchy advise!!!

I Celebrate Halloween and Samhain so I usually get dressed up and I eat candy and watch scary movies and shows and I always decorative for the holiday I try to have Decorations for Halloween and Samhain and I usually put up Samhain decorations around the week of Autumn Equinox (Mabon) and Halloween decorations at the beginning of October and I leave up the Samhain decorations until after the American Thanksgiving hoilday and I usually take down the Halloween decorations a few days after Halloween!!!

I just rewatched the one from three years ago! Loved it! This one is fantastic too!

Thanks so much for the crystal update. A couple there I hadn't thought of specifically for Samhain, so definitely more going to be added to my altar plan now. I've got the Crystal Bible books - some of the first ones I bought 10 or so years ago - but I find them really difficult to hold and read. Odd size and so heavy and thick, they won't stay open etc. Anyway, on a plus point, I think I've solved a witchy problem. You know how some people moan about using lighters to light candles because of the fuel, and the sulphur of the matches too etc. Well if you check out "Rechargeable Electronic Lighter" on Amazon, for under a tenner you can buy a slimline candle lighter that recharges via USB (cable provided), has no fuel, and has a snake like bendy neck you can move to reach into tall candles etc. Don't ask me how it works because it's too complex for my brain, but it does, I know, because I bought one and it arrived today. It's amazing! One tiny spark and the wick is alight. How? No idea. But it is. No fuel, no flame, rechargeable. £8.99 on Prime. Woohoo! Go witches! xxx

Wicca is a religion, although it contains aspects of witchcraft, in itself it isn't witchcraft and so "wicca" spells are the same as "Witchcraft" spells, they may contain different deities however. Any spell, with the likelihood of manifesting, with the mundane effort can manifest regardless of which religion or not you follow.

Hello! I've met an opinion that most of pagans believe in reincarnation. I wonder how this belief works with connecting to ancestors's spirits? not trying to insult, I'm just genuinely curious.

Many believe that there are two aspects to us after death, that our "spirit" goes on to undertake one path, and out "soul" goes on to undertake another path. Because of this, the life force of a relative may go on to be reincarnated, but them as a person, goes on as a spirit and so, the two work together. Of course there are other beliefs and religions which believe more in an afterlife where an ancestor may reside.
