SAMA BANGUINGI PEACEJOURN DOCUMENTARY FINAL 2

The Sama Banguingi people in Samboangan have come a long way from Tonquil, Sepac, Balanguingi, and Jolo Islands all in Sulu, to Cagayan Valley, to settle in Taluksangay and other islands and mainland communities in Zamboanga City.
Jesuit-raised and trained Antonio dela Cruz, later adopting the name as a true Moro being Datu Abdullah Nuño, true son of Panglima Julano Taupan, found his way to settle in Taluksangay, built the first mosque in Samboangan, and made it the Islamic center of the south.
From historical narratives of James Francis Warren, Emilio Bernaldez, Cesar Adib Majul, Margarita Cojuangco, Maria Frencie Carreon, and many others, a glimpse on genealogical records gets to the fore as issues on leadership of the indigenous people's groups in Zamboanga are triggered by interested parties before the Sangguniang Panlungsod (Zamboanga City Council). Will the City Government's leadership be able to resolve this before year ends?
