It's the I want it now & short attention span mentality that seems to be everywhere these days, fuelled by social media promising you can have it all right away. Not just the body, but the self made successful job, the house, the car etc. Young impressionable teenage guys see others with these things & don't want to put the work in for 5+ years when they can get there with steroids etc in 2 years. Most won't see they made the wrong choice until it's too late.

8+ years is on the low end, esp if you start as a teen when you're busy with school, sports, and not eating enough. I didn't start getting a good physique until I was in my 30s, finished with professional training and could afford to eat and train the way I needed to.

For a guy like me who didn't start lifting until 30, it's basically telling me I HAVE to do them to make up for all the time I spent being a fat moron in my 20s. Gains are already hard to make and they're only going to get harder. I could do everything perfectly and not even achieve my relatively modest goals by 40, not to mention the fact that as I advance in my career I have less time and energy every year. These types of warnings to young guys have unironically convinced me to try to get on TRT and then start blasting and cruising for the next 12-18 months. Doing my pre-consult blood test tomorrow actually lol.

@@BlueBeamProjectionistyou’re probably not getting good gains because you’re not experienced enough what know what works for you mate. I’m 29 and lost all my gains from being injured and gained weight throughout 2021 and 2022. I then did a 3 month cut and started eating well and pushing hard in the gym after that and now I’m in better shape than I have ever been after only 9 months and that’s with 10 years of lifting experience under my belt. And nobody can say I should be getting better results now than 10 years ago from a bio standpoint. It’s all about the knowledge and experience and being able to properly apply progressive overload, know when to switch exercises, which are most effective for your body, etc. Amd sure, get your T levels checked, but If they aren’t too low, stay natural, push hard and learn bro!

@@Josh-dr9db I know what I'm doing, I've spent an unreasonable amount of time and effort to ensure that I am doing things right. I'm not saying I can't make gains, just that I'm not going to make gains like a 16 year old would. Also, your 9 month transformation is from muscle memory. Everyone knows that when you build muscle, then lose it, gaining it back is significantly easier than building it in the first place. I never had lost gains to rebuild. It's nobody else's fault I wasted my teens and 20s drinking heavily and laying around. So now that I've fixed the problems on the inside I'm stuck walking around in the consequences of my past actions. Fuck that. I'm not going to wait until I'm 40 to look how I feel. If I was 20, then yeah I'd take the long route and see how I turned out in 8-10 years but I'm not. Clinics will give TRT to anyone with levels under 600ng/dl, and I can have the test levels of two 20yr old athletes combined, except they won't crash from stress or other factors. Every guy I know who has gotten on TRT has had major improvements in life outside of the gym as well. Promotions at work, way more success in dating, one guy finally started his own business and it's now thriving. You can keep the natty self-righteousness.

Too many kids who got out their mothers' wombs like to claim they know everything there is in life. If you've lived in this world long enough, or actually, sharpen your mind, then you'd know nobody knows anything. Steroids were around way before 2020. It's how Zyzz became famous because he was a weeb who got jacked with steroids, and many people were inspired by "his results." Arnold Schwarzenegger is another example. I have nothing against using steroids. I think building a foundation and learning with your own potential is remarkable. A fitness influencer is like any other influencer on the Internet-they're there to entertain you. Kids have issues with anything ingenuine when they are actually consuming from scripts. People are actually boring irl. People only want to watch interesting people. When I was a kid, there were many misinformation on how to build muscle on youtube. I watched an old ATHLEAN-X video, and the boomers looked at me weird because it was a stupid exercise. I didn't really understand it. However: 1) Boomers use outdated information 2) fitness influencers/youtubers are learning, too That video I watched was outdated, but the boomers who aren't learning new information can be wrong. I can help people build muscle, but I don't know everything. And I learned that I'm not the only one. It's normal. All you can do is work with clients to get better at teaching and finding better ways of fixing issues. I'm not a personal trainer, but one should know what works for me might be different for others.

I bet some young people would take it and would end up poor in 10 years. This is pretty close to what steroids do for you (not counting any of the negative side affects that 96% of people reported). Time is an important factor of success and it is one that cannot be rushed. Stay safe and treat yourself well.

I've always felt that the openness of people using gear in recent years has been a double-edged sword in the fitness community. Yes, it has helped people avoid unrealistic expectations, and spot scumbag fake naturals who use their physiques to sell lousy products. But on the other hand, I'm seeing more people so quick to give up on their goals, or resort to using gear extremely early because their favorite KZreadr does it. There's also this whole mentality of "genetics is the only thing that really matters and mine must be shit, better hop on gear", when a lot of these people haven't even put in the time to optimize diet and programming to see what they are actually capable of. You might not be able to look like Chris Hemsworth, but nearly everyone is capable of building a solid looking physique if they really want it.

You may not look exactly like how you want to, but everyone can look like a beast.

Sure, telling young people in today's society they only have to wait 7 years instead of 1 year is totally going to work 😂 Teenagers now think that in another 7 years they'll be a grandpa and will have missed all their best years. Even 30 year olds do not want to wait until they are 37-40 to get the results they think they need to have the life they think they want. The key here should be examining WHY people think having a body built by steroids will make their life better. For most of us natties who have been at it for more than 5 years, the positive things we've gotten out of it have not even been the aesthetics or strength, which very few other people care about, including women (and I think that's 99% of why guys get on). It's more about the rewards for consistency (which can be applied to any other area), managing expectations, managing anxiety, self-advocating for your own health, dealing with set-backs and injury, and an host of other things that are more psychological than physical.

That is a good point, it's not really something I've seen discussed, it's usually more about the hypertrophy/aesthetics. Get to a 180kg squat first and then make that decision for yourself. Steroids don't nearly help as much for strength as they do hypertrophy; research shows it's roughly only a 10% advantage (stronger by science has a great article on it). Obviously 10% is huge when you're competing, but for a normal gym goer, it's not going to take their bench from 200lbs to 400+ all of a sudden.

There is away to go about things whilst trying to minimise problems. There is use and then there is abuse. I was taking Sustanon and HCG as part of a legally prescribed TRT regimen in the UK. Started in around May 2021 and although I sought TRT for reasons besides deteriorating strength and fat gain, holy shit were the changes more than I expected. 5kg in about 2 months (some water) and my gym mojo was back, with some PRs following shortly after. Quite remarkable, and only from 125mg and 1500 IU per week. I think it’s a sign I would have responded amazingly to higher doses. Unfortunately, I had to come off in August 2022 when I moved to another country, and I took that opportunity to see if I could stay off (because injections suck and I’m quite risk averse). Well, a year later and I’m worse off than before I started TRT, and it’s been increasingly evident in the last 3-4 months. Hard to say if that’s a coincidence, but I doubt it, and it reinforces the reason I wanted it in the first place. I had zero negative side affects aside from some water retention in the early weeks. No gyno, acne or hair loss, although I’m naturally prone to none of those, fortunately.

Plenty of examples even online shows that this is not the truth, yes you retain myonuclei long term but they are useless since the enhanced hormonal backgroud is no longer there. Like fat cells that shrinks while dieting, they dont grow back if calories dont go up again. Also you need to consider the mental aspect of going off gear wich impact the motivation a lot and the time frame of hormonal recovery (which is not 100% guaranteed). So what are these brocolli boys doing in the gym? Just posing for IG pics?
