If they are regularly convinced by prager's ramblings or his pathetic propaganda programing I truly doubt they are reachable. They are their because that's where they want to be to feel special and that its society that's wrong. Can't reach people like that with facts and logic it can't pierce the veil alternative reality that makes them feel good.

This was the perfect demonstration of right-wing media, 80% of time was dedicated to the grift, he hardly engaged with the points being made other than just deny reality, and when there's finally a prescribing statement that you'll hope he'll engage with (Israel would be safer if it was a multiethnic society), he basically just calls Sam delusional and ends the call because he can't properly argue for the opposite.

Honestly, I think he genuinely believes that. He judges people on their effectiveness to his movement. Hagee has vile beliefs, but he's helpful to Zionism, so he's fine. Republicans, Catholic priests, Matt Walsh, they all do what you know they do, but they help political goals, so their beliefs, no matter how vile, cannot stop him from supporting them. Sure, but how does that support Sam's argument? False premises pushed by the father lead to false conclusions by the son. Sam essentially wrote the character "Ron" as the cause of his son's anti-Israel beliefs, with the contradiction that the son's advocacy pains the father. Prager correctly diagnosed the father's self-delusion as the cause: the father himself is anti-Israel.

Dennis would have done better at this point to frankly mention the difficulties of doing this in a heavily Islamic population. It seems wonderful in principle. In practice how do we keep Islamic kooks from coming to the fore? Iran was kind of like that with the old shah, but it had to be a harsh authoritarian rule, American supported to boot, in order to succeed. As we know, Iran's shah's rule eventually failed and Iran's government became a fanatic kook-ocracy. I couldn't see an Israel-Palestine arrangement without independent troops there to keep peace between the powder keg peoples. Maybe it should be done, but the devil really is in the details and the world commitment to this.

Sam, I am the daughter of a half Russian Jewish father from Ohio, the heart wrenching part is my grandmother was a married Southern Baptist 27 year old from Fremont, Ohio. My grandfather was 2nd gen as his father came to Ohio and married a Eastern European Jewish woman in the late 1800’s.. It was a secret until her death, I do know from a neighbor that she drove herself to a lawyer who advised silence as divorce would make her path an extremely difficult one. My grandfather, whom I never knew remained single for 14 years after my father’s birth, married at 50.. I only found the truth through 10 years of 23&me and trying genealogy together.. It was laborious and it mattered…So much of my life was predicated on my loves, my career and my life as being adored but not accepted completely because I was not Jewish …My daughter is half Levantine, raised by me as a lover of all religions and all nationalities… My heart is heavy as the misguided hatred grows worldwide… Thank you both for educating me and keeping up the good but relentless fight.

Debating Sam is like debating someone who believes the earth is flat. The amount of smugness it takes to be so sure of yourself when you say things such as a single multi ethnic state would protect minority J*ws is out of this world crazy when we know for a fact that other groups professing liberal values wouldn't be safe either. Not to mention the fact that he ignores that Israel is a far greater example of a multi ethnic society than any of its neighbors. As far as his assertion that Israelis are constantly afraid, I've been to Israel many times, and the people love living there. I wish I could visit more often. The whole thing about the evangelical right supporting Israel is irrelevant. Here in America, we don't discriminate against religious people even when we disagree with them about everything. However, as Americans, we are still unified when it comes to protecting our civilization. I can disagree with everything else that preacher says but that doesn't mean his support is not important when your country is under attack. The way you win a debate with Sam Seder is to just let him talk.
