Sam Kinison and His Legendary Scream at Dangerfield’s Comedy Club (1986)

Комедия

“If you’ve seen him before, you’re gonna want to see him again. And if you haven't seen him before, you’re gonna get a kick out of Bad Sam.” Rodney Dangerfield welcomed Sam Kinison and his legendary scream to the stage on his 1986 HBO special, “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Me”.
In 1985, HBO offered Rodney a deal to do a show from his Dangerfield’s comedy club which would end up becoming “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Me”. It gave Rodney the opportunity to introduce his own selection of new comedians and give them their first shot on national television. The special included Sam Kinison and other unknown comics like Roseanne Barr, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert Townsend, Jeff Altman and Bob Nelson.

Yahshua Messiah's secret power was to set LOVE as your 'god', instead of old tribal deity figures. By setting LOVE itself as the primary focus of your life, you love LOVE with all your being, love all other beings, and Love yourself. By following the teachings of Yahshua, average people can transform their normal lives into powerful lives filled with loving compassion, mindful mercy, and Joyful healing Empathy. For this system to work correctly, both men and women must study, learn, and apply the teachings of Yahshua for true love fulfillment. It can be a lot of fun ! :-) LOVE SAVES !

It was the fall of 1988...I was 16 years old. I FINALLY got my own room after my brother went into the Navy. The first thing I did was buy new carpeting, a queen-size waterbed, and a two-cassette stereo with a CD player. The first CD I bought was "Have You Seen Me Lately". I would just lay on my bed after school and listen to that CD over and over again. To say I miss those days...35 years ago....would be an extreme understatement. I'm now 51, and not a day goes by I don't think about those days.

His parents came and got him late that night. I think he had told his mom he was staying at our friends house who lived behind sam but instead, stayed at my house. Maybe he got home sick too and called his mom. I don't I'm not sure. . Another funny story is he got in trouble for goofing off in class so the teacher made him go out the door on the 2nd floor escape to clean the big box of chalk board erasers as punishment. in the police academy movies, he delivered every word in that voice - the '' just took a bong hit of crack and is holding it in '' voice. I was surprised he had a normal voice.

I saw Sam at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, Summer of 1987, and even though we were in the nosebleed seats, when he screamed he deafened the whole place. Loudest show I've ever been to in my life and I've been on the floor, 20 feet from the stage, at 2 Judas Priest concerts and 3 AC/DC concerts in the 80's. My ears rang appropriately for several hours after those shows but Sam had us ringing for a couple of days. A legend.

What a tragic yet amazingly profound story of the minutes before Sam died in a car accident on the way to his gig in Laughlin, Nevada. This happened right after his 5 day honeymoon in Hawaii : his best friend LaBove was with him as the following happened: “Kinison appeared to have suffered no serious injuries, but within minutes he suddenly said to no one in particular, "I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die." LaBove later said, "it was as if he was having a conversation, talking to someone else, some unseen person." Then there was a pause as if Kinison was listening to the other person speak. Then he asked "But why?" and after another pause LaBove heard him clearly say: "Okay, okay, okay." LaBove said, "The last ‘okay’ was so soft and at peace ... Whatever voice was talking to him gave him the right answer and he just relaxed with it. He said it so sweet, like he was talking to someone he loved." Kinison then lost consciousness. Efforts to resuscitate him failed. Kinison died at the scene from internal injuries"

Yes, I recall that mentioned back when he died. I have never forgotten it. What was interesting is that I think he was also a minister of some sort either at an earlier time in his life, or, his other job. I don't know which.

We had some of the best comedians in the 80s. Everyone knows who the big names were, but these three were and are my all-time favorites-Sam Kinison, Lewis Black, Kathleen Madigan.❤❤❤

I was in high school and saw this when it was first broadcast on HBO back in the 80's. I could tell at school the next day who had HBO and had seen it when I did. You didn't even have to ask; you could hear the unusually high level of snickering and laughing between all the guys (myself included) in class and just knew! A classic!!
