"I see my Mother, The DWP see a number" such a simple, heartbreaking line, it knocks me out every time. I would say the most talented song writers there are would go their whole life without writing anything that holds as much of an emotional kick to the head as that one.

There aren't many songs that have a line like "I was far too scared to hit him, but I'd hit him in a heart beat now" that is so perfect that the audience immediately screams it out and Sam knows it's no longer his line. So great.

“I see my mother, the DWP see a number” - touch of class Sam. 🖤🖤🤍🤍
I see 3 concerts a week as my career. Sometimes it's hard to really get into something because you dissect it so much. This song... this is the song every songwriter want to write. It's about everything, it's about the things we want to be nothing, it's about life - this is how life sounds. It's amazing, how free as a writer Sam is to write with such simplistic yet powerful words, it's a poem, but it sounds so good! I have rarely ever been transported by a song like this, if at all. This is history.
the guitar sounds softer in this than the actual track somehow. it makes it even more emotional. idek how to describe the way it makes me feel but i love it

I mean "The DWP see a number" would probably be the best line for years without the above mentioned one. Fuckn amazing

I'm 69. Been playing guitar for 56 years. This song proves that music is timeless. It doesn't matter how old you are, the music transcends everything. The line that got me was, "That's the thing with anger, it begs to stick around." Very very personal to me. Go, Sam, go.
I can barely listen to this song without crying. and i've heard it so many times.
This song helped me through 2023, a year when dépression knocked at my door again. Curiosly I had the chance of visiting London, Paris, Madrid, and Lyon: my favorite of them all was, even more curiously, London. I heard myself singing random lines of this song while I was walking thru Trafalgar and Soho one night, and I had a couple of tears running down my face cause I couldn't believe I was living to see that city, yet the year felt like going to waste in so many levels. Thank you Sam for holding a hand for me throughout these tough times... And actually, in my case, I was 33 going under. I hope 34 are a bit gentler - and I hope to see him playing live this anthem someday.
His star is rising fast and he deserves the success as the talent is totally awesome - Brixton Academy remains one of the best music venues in the whole wide world.
