1995, most of that audience wasn't alive then. I was in a car full of friends in San Francisco on the way to an underground rave in a warehouse "rolling balls". Once we arrived at the rave we just sat in the car and listened to the song about 10 times feeling so damn good. I'll never forget that.

@@michaelwhitaker9719 that doesn’t mean that Liam needs him though does it, it was certainly the case that had it not been for Liam singing a lot of Noel’s songs in Oasis they wouldn’t have had such a popular impact. Liam doesn’t claim to be a songwriter but he’s come out with the better songs since the split, Beady Eye we’re good and Liams current stuff is good whereas the High Flying Birds is generally very 🥱 and dull. Have a listen to Liam at Knebworth singing ‘All you’re dreaming of’, Liams vocal is awesome, the song is great and Noel didn’t write it, hence Liam doesn’t need Noel, if anything Noel needs Liam to inject some dynamism and attitude into his boring same old same old repertoire.

Liam is an inspiration and a hero. He managed to rebuild himself personally and as an artist after so many problems (many accused of his brother's stupidity). Musically very good and got a killer band on the side.

As a singer/guitarist I learned Champagne Supernova back in 95' - 96'. At open mics mainly, I mostly play original stuff but if the room is lagging a bit or the energy is not yet unified. I play this song. People fall in to the mantra fast. The show then immediately locks in and its basically magic from there on out. Any big Oasis song works. I do Supersonic (an octave lower), all total miracles at getting people focused and engaged. I still remember hearing this song for the first time in Los Angeles in 1995 on the car radio (KCRW). It was dusk, I was on Franklin Blvd, I'm so grateful to these mad Mancunians -- cheers mates!
