now that's a proper interview. I love how responsive John is. have never seen his show before but the man definitely knows how to get the best of the guest without asking cliché questions and spitting nasty jokes. the level of comfort sam appears to have here is astonishing - as if he's talking to himself with no one there to interrupt. brilliant

Having watched the video on the first album too they have obviously known each other for a while so it makes the interview that much better but yes totally agree, great interview from both sides.

Spot on. The contrast between this and the chris moyles one(on first album) is huge!
Spit of You is just incredible. It is almost like you are writing songs just for me and my life experiences. And I can only assume there are millions of people who feel the same about Sam's material. This is actual music. Actual performers making noises with instruments and mouths! Subject matter which is current, relevant and relatable to millions. I don't think a piece of music has ever affected me as much as this track.
Had the best drive of my life listening to this album over the weekend. Incredible.

'The Dying Light' is one of the best closures for an album I've ever heard (When you remove the deluxe edition tracks)
I didn’t get into this guy until the start of the lockdown, cycling through empty streets and listening to Hyper Sonic Missiles. I’m so glad I got into him, he’s absolutely brilliant! 😍
Why is no one talking about long way off? That’s my favourite track off the album
Its spit of you and last to make it home for me, those two back to back are something else man. Superb album from one of my favourite artists around right now
He's the best of his generation. A wonderful songwriter. Restored my faith in British music.

Honestly can not put into words how much I love Sam Fender, he comes across as a genuinely sound guy who is an amazing song writer! Long Way Off has not been off since I heard it ❤️

Paradigms is favorite off the album, honestly, I think its my new number one song from Sam. Sam is real talent, can't wait for the USA tour. Much love from Chicago.
As an old..er dude on here, most 20 something year old artist’s lyrics don’t resonate with me. It makes sense because of different life experiences. I started listening to Sam because of some of his musical inspirations were/are mine. The thing is he transports me to a time as if I was just there. It’s relatable to a late teen and older, without being cliched, topical fluff. And his Wall of Sound on some of those tunes are delicious to hear! Hoping he gets to the States again before he’s a household name here, so I don’t have to fight for a ticket. Rock on, Sam!

I mean, that's what you get when you grow up in the North in general, in the UK the best lyricists have come from the North, fact.
Angel of Lothian and Pretending That You're Dead are my favourites🥰
The Dyling Light is one of the most touching tracks I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Just fantastic.
The story of how 'Mantra' came to be written is fantastic - another layer in LA musical tales.
One of the best new albums I have heard in a long time

Best songwriter out there at the moment
ANGEL IN LOTHIAN!!!!! Unreal piece of heart stirring music.
Seventeen Going Under is the anthem of this decade, I don't think I've gone a day without listening to it at least three times. This bloke is proper.
What an amazing human being. Love listening to him and I always end up feeling so emotional - he speaks from the heart and soul. Music genius
Honestly can’t get enough of this album. I love it just as much as Hypersonic. Fantastic interview, love how honest and direct Sam is
His voice is nice listening to even when he just talks.
I would love to just sit down in a pub and listen to these two talk for hours
What a track mantra is wow
have to love the Fender, always enjoy listening to him in interviews, his music is exceptional, heart felt songs, ps i have FMS and feel for your family dealing with tough events throughout Sams early years i always feel life is a daily test, but why should we put up with it, must get this album?
This was a fantastic interview. Sam is wise beyond his years. I hope he knows it and never doubts it.
I keep coming back to the interview the more I listen to this album, my favourite song changes all the time, at the moment I'm transfixed on paradigms, unreeeeeeeal
Long Way Off my fave song from new album, what an album by the way.
I can't get "last to make it home" out of my head as of late, it's speaks to me so much. And of course I always keep going back to getting started and seventeen going under...brilliant album.
Since everyone’s saying their favourite track. Mine would be Spit of you, it resides with me and I can relate to it a lot. It’s a testament to the album that everybody is sat here naming their favourite track and why…
Paradigms is awesome, lyrics and melody are something else
Great album, Spit of you is the best track off the album for me!
The dying light, possibly best album closer of all time...
Paradigms is my fave
He’s got an amazing voice and he manages to combine meaningful & moving lyrics with music that is truly thrilling. The most exciting performer & poet to emerge for many years and I look forward to more.
Cracking interview, Sam is so level headed and the interviewer knows his stuff and allows Sam to speak.
Sam Fender, do you know how talented you really are?? Great interview...
Love dying light
Spit If You is a fantasric song i think...i love the whole package , the lyrics, the accent and a great video featuring Stephen Graham too.
Love the album, would have to go for the title song because it just means so much to me. Came out when I was at a real low point and lifted me right up
Getting started is my upbeat song of choice, but my favourites have to be Angels of Lothian and The Dying Light.
I'm gonna play this album start to finish soon as this video is done... Happy happy Friday!!
Phenomenal interview yet again. Thank you to the both of you for having such an open conversation.
The first album interview Sam&John Kennedy did 2 years ago is still my go-to-interview. I like the chemistry between the 2 of them. The really click. I could listen to them talking for hours. Love how Sam talks about creating music. I’m not artistically gifted in any shape or form, so this process of finding lyrics and music always blows my mind. And I really feel that John truly loves (his)music. Please also talk about the deluxe edition extra songs as well, lads! I wanna know every tiny bit about it!
This has to be album of the year surely
Great interview. Unbelievable album, can’t get enough of Spit Of You. That song really hits home with me.
angel in lothian
Such a fantastic artist. Sam Fender is really one of the top talent in existence!
Spit of You ripped my heart out and stomped on it.... love it tho lol
The authenticity of this man is unreal. Great interview. Love this man.
Getting started might be my favorite track on the album and overall
Was hoping they would talk about Angel in Lothian
I've said it before and I'll say it again... THE best British artist in modern day music
Great interview, I love johns passion, Sam is such a joker in loads of his interviews, I love his intensity in this one, intelligent, talented guy 🙌🏻
So talented !!! His music is unique 😍

Just curious did his mum have him late on? Nurse for 40years & struggled with health when he was 17 so that would make her at least 57 then? Not judging as I’m 40 and would have another baby tomorrow if I could ☺️
