One thing I always do when pedestrians get mad at me for pointing out they are in a bike lane is I ask.... will you go walk into a street with cars driving around? No? So then stay out of the bike lane as it is a moving lane of traffic.

I’m a delivery driver in Seattle and it blows my mind how many people just walk into the street on their phone without a green cross light. Also really bad habit that’s been increasingly more common since Covid is ignoring stop lines/signs entirely and flying partially into intersections, but this is more a north Seattle/u district thing

I had a crazy cyclist did that to me one time when I said ride in the street, not in the sidewalk and he got the heatwave pepper spray hit at him for trying to catch my bike. I carry that heatwave pepper spray with me at all times. I'm definitely going to get my licensed so i could carry a firearm.

I carry pepper spray with me at all times, anywhere I go in public. You just never know when you'll need to defend yourself. And I like the idea of carrying a less-than-lethal self-defense tool because the majority, if not the vast majority of self-defense encounters won't require me to draw a firearm. But, it's good to carry both just in case, if you can do so legally.

As a former law enforcement officer, i would of asked you if you wanted to press charges on the guy from grabbing you like that once i saw the camera footage of yours. I'm very disappointed in the corrupted law enforcement that they take forever to come to the dangerous scenes, if you tell them that it's a person with a camera filming buildings they would come fast. But when that guy got assaulted in the light rail station less than an hour after I gave up on waiting for the police when that guy assaulted me, SPD showed up within 20 minutes. I guess if I'm going to get attacked, I just have to make sure it's in the right place? 🙄

that new Pike bike lane design is so confusing. I think it's unfinished bc the bike lane just poops you out into the leftmost lane twice along that road, not to mention the oblivious lime scooters and ebikes zooming down Pike the wrong way. also, in general, for Idaho stops, if you get to an intersection (on bike) and a car got to the stop sign (in the perpendicular travel lane) before you but hasn't entered the intersection yet, technically according to the word of the law, the bike would have the right-of-way, right? since the stop sign becomes a yield sign. I usually let the car go if they got there before me out of safety, but just wondering what the technically correct behavior according to law is

I came across your videos recently and as someone not from a big city like Seattle it’s definitely helped me be more aware about bike lanes and cyclists . Yesterday I was driving with my wife and there was a bike lane that required you to cross it to exit the bridge and I checked my mirror and there was a cyclist approaching me so I waited for her to pass me before exiting and she gave me a thumbs up 👍🏾

Gotta love my hometown... Not! And this is the main reason I live in Kitsap county now... Still a lot of craziness here too but not as crazy... Thank's for the vid... Loved it... Keep up the humor and being a good citizen... ☺️

The guy smacked the phone out of his hand and called him a bunch of racist names. I called the police but the angry guy left. I'm not sure what came after that. I had a message from a detective left at home that he didn't answer when I called back. That's the last I heard.

I think a more modern iteration of "grow up and get a car" would be "grow up, get rid of your car and get a bike". Or at the very least, "grow up and demand better infrastructure for other forms of transportation".

It's just such a wild contrast to when, just two hours later, I witnessed an assault between two other people, and that guy got arrested immediately. I just got assaulted twice on my bycicle recently in France. The 11 of June & the 29 of May. I just yelled at someone running a red light. I went to the hospital and for yesterday, i was really in danger, i tried to escape and it was really close; the sub human wanted me dead because i told him to respect the lights and the pedestrians who he who about to crash into. On the topic of ways to also thwart the stupidity when riding, I’ve fitted my bike trailer with multiple train horns and whistles that can practically clear anything in front of me. Just another perk of being a collector of warning devices.

RCW 46.61.755 states: (1) Every person riding a bicycle upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and **shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle** by this chapter, except as to special regulations in RCW 46.61.750 - 46.61.780, except as provided in RCW 46.61.190, and except as to those provisions of this chapter which by their nature can have no application. Meaning... if it's not legal for motorcycles, it wouldn't be legal for any other vehicle. In addition, running red lights (see RCW 46.61.190) regardless whether the rider (this applies to pedestrians as well as you often point out) believes the conditions are safe is illegal as well. It would appear hypocritical picking and choosing which laws one follows and which they ignore.

5:18 this is called lane splitting, in the state of Washington, this is illegal, according to RCW 46.61.608, this code specificlly states motorcycles, and according to RCW 46.61.755 a bicyclist is "granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle" so the RCW about lane splitting does apply to you as well, making this lane splitting and (starting at 5:43) lane filtering, illegal according to Washington state law.

Honestly wasn’t a fan of the fight content, it’s just parading people at their worst. Felt unnecessary and had nothing to do with cycling content, hope to see less of it in the future. Happy there was no loss of life though.

@@BenjaminWillis-24 I care about SAFETY. It's unsafe, rude, and stupid for a pedestrian to walk/stand in an active lane of traffic, so I'm going to let them know about it. I only go through red lights when I've checked that it is 110% safe to do so. JUST like pedestrians do all the time. It's actually legal in several states and several countries for cyclists to treat red lights like a stop sign, so I include these clips of me doing exactly that to demonstrate that it can be done safely. But it also triggers idiots like you who can't be bothered to actually do some research, you just want to complain, which just helps grow my channel 😘

Sweetie, pedestrians have the right of way in the crosswalk, what are you doing? You blow lights, almost hit pedestrians, go over draw bridges after the arms come down, with the attitude and careless behavior I fear for your safety. Edit: and no bikes on the escalators, use the elevator. Rules apply to you too.

I disliked cyclists who goes around trying to tell people what to do but not obeying the traffic laws himself and going pass red lights. A lot of my friends who are cyclists doesn't like irresponsible cyclists like this at all because they give cyclists a bad name.
