    I had an angling store for over 10 years . Opening in 2005 , Bass spinning was mostly freshwater spinning gear . Gradually Bass fishing became more specific. It was the fastest growing pursuit in our store. LRF and Soft Plastics , the 1000’s of hard lures meant the explosion of different rods . 7’ to 9’ was the main selling point. Braid revolutionized spinning. Today I’d reckon it’s the most enjoyable type of fishing with the light gear . The fish , Bass ,Seatrout , Mackerel, Pollack & Wrasse have not gotten anymore intelligent 😂 The Tackle catches the Angler , and the fish I suppose 😂😂 Atb Tony , great video

    Spinning is definitely an addictive sport. Like you say, the tackle catches the angler, I don't mind that though😁

    Excellent tutorial video everything well explained so much so that I may invest in a lure rod when I can get down to the coast. Having watched you putting theory into practice I feel confident I would enjoy the challenge in particular doing the crack of dawn sessions.

    Hi wayne ...love your channel...i currently use a 6ft6 one piece rod 15-45g paired with a 3000 size reel ...and it works the south coast well for me ...i just prefer shorter rods in America i see a lot of shore anglers using smaller rods even seen a guy using a 5ft jigging rod ..but most not over 7ft why do we tend to use longer rods in the uk? I can still cast a good distance with what i use ..

    Thank you! Come to think of it, my rod when I was in America was 7ft. The longer rods, when used as designed, will send a lure out a lot further. If you have a 6'6 try an 8'6 and see how much more distance you get. Plus, our rods need the extra length to get the lighter lures out to where they need.to go A 7-35g, 8'6 should be ample

    It's a good idea to use a leader for a few reasons. The main one for me is that it's a lot more abrasion resistant and doesn't snag as easily. Bass will run you into snags if they can. Nothing worse than losing both a good fish and a favourite lure!

    Started fishing 6 years ago. Spinfishing for zander. Listened to many "you have to" 's and many "you need" 's . Decided to find out myself. I'm fishing with almost all "can not" 's. Out of about 20 fisherman spinning for zander where I fish, I'm one of the best catchers. (if not the best) I personally think there's a lot of ego in the"you have to" 's and "you need" 's. Probably starting this summer in the surf, let's see.

    Good video, I'm just starting out with lure fishing for bass, I've not used braid before and I've got myself a decent monofilament line of 12lb and I'm running that straight through to my lure clip, once I've gotten used to lure fishing I may decide to give braid a try 😀

    I've been using one of those Shimano FX 4000 lure like in the video, cheaper than chips (£20), rock solid, landed a 5lb and 8lb bass with it no worries. Wash it off after every session, a bit of grease and WD every now and again and your away . When it gives up, I'm recycling it and buying another.

    Ivs got a small 5 10 rod. I bought it to use for lure fishing. Would it work? I thought when lure fishing your required short rods...

  • @Anglingaddict75

    @Anglingaddict75

    3 жыл бұрын

    You'd be able to use that for sure! With a 9' to 10' rod you'll be able to load it up better and get your lure out.further plus... The action a longer rod has is more forgiving when you have a fighter on. You'll lose less fish. Hope that makes sense.
