Instead of pouring the caramel over the crackers, I stir them into the caramel and then pour them out on the parchment. That way, everything is coated and I don’t have to stir it on a cookie sheet. I have lost many to the dogs doing that. Lol

I make this but I put the crackers in a large bowl then cover with the caramel stir and the spread on my cookie sheet. Much easier

So it took me a few days to get these crackers. Went to several stores and apparently many don’t carry or were out. Amazon saved the day. They were really good! Key word (were)! I have even looked up other recipes for these cracker. Going to try the savory next time. Just have to locate these darn crackers in town. Thanks

This may sound strange...but, forego the sprinkled salt and sprinkle bacon bits (real bacon) on it instead. This is basically the same recipe that's called "candied or maple bacon crackers" (aka "crack")

I make the cracker crack. At first I used saltines then tried Ritz and grahams. Ritz were the winner!! Also, if you add the vanilla after you take it off the heat it doesn't evaporate.❤

She may do it this way because the oyster crackers are pretty fragile, but I’m sure if you’re careful putting them in the Carmel and stirring should work fine.

This is my basic caramel recipe when I make caramel corn so I know it's good. I never tried it with oyster crackers but I will now. :o)

Biscoitos de Caramelo Salgado Aqui está o que você precisa: 1 saco de 9 oz. de biscoitos Oyster 2 tabletes de manteiga com sal 1 xícara de açúcar mascavo embalado 1/2 colher de chá de canela 2 colheres de chá de baunilha Kosher ou sal de cozinha Pré-aqueça o forno a 350 graus. Forre uma assadeira grande (com as laterais) com papel manteiga e coloque os biscoitos em uma camada uniforme. Deixe de lado. Em uma panela média, em fogo médio, derreta completamente a manteiga e, em seguida, adicione o açúcar mascavo, a canela e a baunilha. Mexa constantemente até que a manteiga esteja totalmente incorporada e comece a ferver. Deixe cozinhar, continuando a mexer constantemente, por 1 a 3 minutos, até que a mistura adquira uma cor mais clara e fique homogênea. Despeje a mistura sobre as bolachas e, usando uma colher de borracha ou espátula, mexa para cobrir bem todas as bolachas. Polvilhe-as com sal e leve ao forno por 7 a 9 minutos. Mexa novamente para ter certeza de que estão bem cobertos. Deixe esfriar por 5 minutos e, em seguida, remova o papel-manteiga da assadeira. Deixe esfriar por mais 10 minutos e divirta-se!

no need to add salt or salted butter (I use unsalted butter)... the crackers are already salted... I say that for the benefit of heart patients who can't have a lot of salt. (like me).

Have you tried this with a double boiler? I know my mom used it often with candies, etc but sometimes that doesn't seem to work. If it does, it reduces the chance of scorching...

The best of both worlds! However I live in the United Kingdom, so I'm not sure if we have the crackers you described. Cream, water biscuits, Cornish wafers etc - yes but what can I use? I know from watching your fab video and really good description, my family would really enjoy them, thank you.
