I made my caramel in a large pot and then tossed in the bag of crackers; gently stirred around to coat crackers and then put on the cookie sheet. Seemed easier than trying to toss them on a cookie sheet.

@user-yw8rx3ss3j No, they do not. The baking process helps with this and allows them to still have a nice crunch. However, after they cool completely, you will need to store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container. So glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you have a blessed day!!!

i am the same way. i tell people all the time that i won't subscribe or like if they don't give the recipe in the description box. many will post where they got their makeup, cooking equipment...etc... but too lazy or too busy to give a full recipe. martha, ina, flay who are really busy chefs write their recipes down. none of us have time to be looking all over the place for a dern recipe. i hope people see our post. they will get many more hits if they do it right. thank you for posting...

Hi new to watching your channel, I use to make something similar to this year’s ago it we just laid regular saltine crackers on a cookie sheet, did what you did expect we didn’t add cinnamon. After it came out of oven we sprinkled Hershey chocolate chips. After it set about 10 minutes take your spatula and spread the chocolate around and let cool then break into pieces! Definitely my kinda crack! Yumo ❤️

Yes, we have people in South Georgia who wear shorts year round.

❤magnolia-star cinnamon butter extract(made with real butter and cinnamon). It is right by the vanilla extract. It is great to add 1/2 a teaspoon and a good vanilla extract. I sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon sugar like you put on toast. ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, around 2 tablespoons sugar. And ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt. I use it on many salted Carmel treats including cinnamon rolls ontop of the glaze at the end of baking. But still warm. I use unsalted butter with my dark brown sugar or light brown sugar. Because i use the pink salt sugar mixture and its plenty salty. If you are not watching salt intake i do not think it matters here. I adored watching your videos tonight. Very homey kitchen. I have a gas stove. So i giggled with your tips. Because i said the same at my sons house. They have a electric stove. You forsure do not set that down on a uneven gas stove. Very hot syrup touching your thumb or finger hurts. I recently switched to silicone tongs. They sure make this recipe easier.

When I was a little girl (maybe 12 or so) I was making candy apples. I had boiled up the candy just stuck my FINGER in it to see if it had cooled down. DUH?? LOL My finger immediately puffed up like a lizzards throat. LOL. (Its funny now that Im 62 and know better now, but I do still remember the pain) I was running back and forth from my house to my next door neighbor's. I surely learned my lesson that day about "lava hot". LOL. And candy thermometers. LOL.

I was watching a explanation the other day and the parchment paper companies. Some of them are putting silicone on the parchment now, so I’m gonna look for that on the box. Next time I buy some.

I think that I’ll mix mine in a bowl and make sure that all is covered, then pour it into my baking sheet.

While a bowl is easier it does tend to break the crackers when mixing. This is why I pour the caramel sauce over the crackers in an even layer on the baking sheet. I kinda wondered why u would stir them to coat on the cookie sheet rather than a bowl. Thks for the tip.

These look wonderful. By the way, crumble the parchment paper - it lays flatter that way. I got that tip from someone else.

Our weather has been all through about three seasons in the last two weeks, but that is typical of South Georgia.😊 Most people here comment, if you don’t like the weather don’t worry because it will change in a few days. 😂 There have been several Christmas Days that we were wearing shorts. Ooh! I'll bet this would be good with pretzel nuggets too. Snyders brand makes what they call "pretzel rounds" in regular and butter flavored.

What an awesome idea! I love the little bite size pieces of this idea rather than the messy broken cracker idea of “Christmas crack”. U could drizzle these with chocolate too I would think. Thk u for sharing this recipe ❤

Just me, but I would’ve dumped the crackers into the pot with the caramel. Then laid it out on a tray. That’s what I would do.

My first attempt to make this was bad!! 😂 I somehow over cooked the sugar & butter also added the vanilla. The vanilla part I have never added vanilla to anything while cooking it. I have always put it in last, after the hard boil. I noticed a sell and it turning darker. I realized then I had over cooked it. We still ate a little of it and my dogs got the rest and they enjoyed it!! So I did another patch... turned out perfect!! I'm gonna do salted pretzel with this caramel coating!! Thanks for sharing!!
