Saltarello - hopping medieval dance.
The first mention of it is in Add MS 29987, a late-fourteenth- or early fifteenth-century manuscript of Tuscan origin, now in the British Library.[1] It was usually played in a fast triple meter and is named for its peculiar leaping step, after the Italian verb saltare ("to jump"). This characteristic is also the basis of the German name Hoppertanz or Hupfertanz ("hopping dance"); other names include the French pas de Brabant and the Spanish alta or alta danza.

I like the equality of movement . Both man and woman twirl and show off their steps to each other as well as dancing hand in hand. Lovely dance and fun music too.

While I agree that it is totally charming that they do the same movements and dance hand in hand, I think what you mean is "equity" rather than "equality". Partners can be equal without being the same or doing the same things. Here the parts are not just equal, but identical. And I personally find that even in dances with specified gender roles, or just roles in general unspecified by gender, there is still equality; different parts but equally important, like in a waltz.

That looks like great fun! Nobody can tell me that the people of the middle ages didn't know how to have a good time.

@@helend7542 people fail to realize that these ups and downs of these periods are relative. people live in the era that they live in, there is the good and terrible in their lives without much perspective for the other eras - save those who attempt to exploit it for agendas (hey you are living much better than people in the past, you shouldn't be discontent, etc.)
I noted that the gentleman's choreography was particularly elegant and he showed great poise.

Medieval times were more sexually free than nowadays in many ways. The mores only changed with the coming of Protestantism and especially in the 19th century England.
A version of Saltarello is still danced as a popular dance among rural folk in modern Italy but it is rougher than this.
