A mash up of Barefoot in the Park, Love on the Rooftop (Owen Madden has the right idea) and the Doris Day/Rock Hudson sophisticated comedies of the day. If I had to guess why it didn't get picked up it would be because the scope of the subject was so limited. The minute they got together the sparks would have dissipated. The movie versions of this type of story had a one-shot sustainability.

If this show was picked up as a regular series , Gary Lockwood couldn't have played Frank Poole in 2001. I believe they started shooting that movie in early 1966. I'll say one thing,: he's a lot more lively and animated here than as Frank.

This was fun. Would have come between Gary's series for Gene Roddenberry, THE LIEUTENANT, and his role in Roddenberry's second STAR TREK pilot. Before he married Stefanie Powers, even. Some nice location footage, too. Vaguely reminds me of the later British series, NO, HONESTLY, where a married couple reminisce about their often rocky courtship. You know they get together eventually but every week you have to ask yourself how!

Now I've actually been able to rewatch the episodes as an adult and can't get over how good the story lines and acting was.
