Thank you for The Secret Storm episode from November 8, 1957, on CBS-TV. Back when the Dodgers and Giants (baseball) were about to leave NYC for California, and professional sports in America would never be the same again. As cities in the West began to grow in population, sports would follow that growth. Anyway, while I never watched The Secret Storm on a regular basis, I would watch the sea waters pounding the shore and the announcer proclaiming the title of the program and who the sponsors were. That was the extent of it. However, I love those original commercials that spoke to previous generations.

Fun fact: Storm aired in 1954 under a different title card and logo. It wasn't until a few years later that the one you see was used.

This one is even more interesting because of that huckstering over the necklace at the end, which I've never seen attached to the end of one of the TV soaps.

I think The Secret Storm didn't rapidly age the children like most other soaps do. The other two Roy Winsor soaps Search for Tomorrow and Love of Live also did not rapidly age children.

@@sheriheffner2098 Thank you Sheri! Always wondered this. Dark Shadows, which I saw in reruns, was considered a soap opera and yet, they used regular recorded music when they started in 1966. But I also remember watching soaps during the 70s that still had organ music. I guess it was a gradual changeover. Such fond memories of watching soaps when I was home sick from school.
