Do you know David A. Sinclair and his works about cell resetting via 3 of the 4 Yamanaka Factors? Well, next year is targeted for the first human trial to treat glaucoma with this. The goal isn't less than just to cure literal aging with regenerative medicine including regenerating limbs and stuff within around the next 10-15 years. It already works very well by the way. Wish you best health and a bright future. 🤓

Just imagine if we could find a way to harness that ability. Amputees, would be able to regrow lost limbs, the paralyzed could potentially walk again. we can. Not with limbs but humans can regenerate small parts of their bodies, like a piece of a finger, or a nail. We don't regenerate bigger parts because it takes too much energy and requires special types of cells to remember the complex structure of the limb. Humans are too complex (not only humans, pretty much any large animal) so the amount of energy and the time that it would be needed wouldnt be worth it.

@@r0tgut Unfortunately, no. That's why sometimes, when salamander larvae get really hungry, they bite each other's heads off.
Dr Curtis Connors should've referred to this video before experimentation.

Nothing is as good as the first set of limbs. Professional salamanders were unable to play football or do mma as good as before the regeneration. Sad but true.

Que ha pasado con los estudios basados en la genética de la salamandra, para ser aplicados en el DNA humano? Esos estudios tienen más de 20 años! Quisiera saber que pasa ? que tan avanzados están y cuales son los resultados en estos momentos?

I lost my finger tip in a work place accident, and left it open and packed it with gauze, and it regenerated. Took a few years for feeling to return, but it did. Wouldn’t try it with a whole arm, but finger tips regenerate fine if your patient.
