Honorable mention goes to Gat out of Hell reading your SRIV savefile and displaying your SRIV Boss in the opening and ending cutscene, which is not working anymore on PC since the workshop patch changed save file format, which makes it impossible for GooH to read and import the character. It still works on console, or when you revert to the pre-workshop patch on PC, however.

@@Volition_To_The_Max, it had to do more with the hard drive, or cloud gaming I believe, but it was supposed to be on the same drive, you complete the story for 4, boot of GooH, and you should’ve seen your character getting napped into the underworld, if I’m not mistaken, that’s the only way to get the bosses other voice actors.

There is other way, just download a mod which adds a phone menu to GOoH, it also has a feature to like block that thingy entierly.

Just played the originals and I now know why the og players love these games.

The SR1 Gangs system looked so cool!! I really enjoyed playing SR1 online but it was well after the Gangs feature was lost. Hoping we see a return of it in some form with the new SR's online, seeing as we'll be getting the PVP at some point.

@@xMTxcameron It definitely looks it!! I'm just wondering why they never even bothered to bring the feature back for SR2's online? I love stuff like that, I'm hoping there's a decent enough social aspect to the whole thing. The built in character sharing looks like a step in the right direction, I just hope its all integrated nicely like the SR1 gang system 👍

A little thing you forgot, is the Saints Row 1 music player. It does still work for the music unlocked through the hidden discs, but, any other songs simply doesn't work, you can make new playlists, but the songs are muted, plus the playlist queue just freezes

I noticed this but I haven't played SR1 on the 360 for years, only playing it on the Xbox One so I assumed it was an emulation issue

If I had to guess I'd say it's a licensing issue. The same thing happened in Gta San Andreas when it got re-released, some songs were missing from the radio.

@@totaldestruction152 Surely if it was a licensing issue, they would be made to remove the songs completely. When I was last on you could play the songs on the Music player they just froze after playing one song and you had to press play a couple of times to get it to work. The songs still play on the radio just fine from what I can remember, it appeared to be a glitch more than anything. It's making me want to plug my 360 in again to check it out on there to see if it's working on there because I've only experienced the problem on Xbox One. With the backwards compatible games being emulated you can get issues and glitches like that, which is why I've just assumed it was a emulation issue. Some of the Original Xbox games that were emulated on the 360 were plagued with issues. Going to check if it works on both consoles, it's been a few months since I've played the original Saints Row but I do remember being able to play the songs on the player, it just glitched out like the OP said. Very curious to see if the 360 is the same unless the OP has already checked

@@Makarov_312 If I get the chance I'll plug my 360 in and I'll check it out but I would put it down to an emulation glitch mate, I wouldn't have thought that it's an intentional thing but it would be interesting to check out. Who knows, they could have updated the game at some point and accidentally broke it, that wouldn't surprise me either.

It would be amazing if Volition brought all of these features back for the reboot. I remember at least one other game that included real world ads as an online feature and I would like to see these return to gaming, especially open world sandbox games. Sprinkling in a few real ads is acceptable in such an instance, I feel.

I vaguely remember a time before 2011 where a lot of games would implement brands and adverts in their games. Saints Row 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, a couple of WWE games, Burnout Paradise. It was kinda neat if a little forced. In a weird way, I wish games would do that now as a way to make the world feel a little more alive.

Actually the billboard ads feature is a really interesting idea that could benefit corporations and I don’t think it would be a big problem for players unlike how ads in games nowadays are, big open world games featuring billboards that would display real ads would be a better way to do ads in games without suffocating the player, if the company is willing to implement ads which is a shitty thing and i obviously hate, i think billboards would be a nice fix.

I remember seeing the real life ads in SR2 and kinda having my mind blown. I know everyone pretty much hates ads & the like in games, me too, but those in universe, noninvasive adverts were cool to see.

I generally didn't know about the advertisements in sr2. Literally like crackdown. There are dodge sponsored billboards around pacific city.

I don't recall seeing ads like that back when it was fresh and I played, however I do recall them being in Burnout Paradise, changing billboards from time to time. Advertisements or not, it was a neat touch. The environment would change ever so slightly, but still be noticeable.

Saints row 3 now has a missing achievement

I remember the saints row 2 billboard having an advertisement for Friday Night Smackdown one time, that was the first time I ever noticed it being used for real world advertisement

TFW you hear Driv3r music for the introduction. :D Driver: San Francisco also did that thing with billboards, advertising real life brands and things, with default being something generic. Cool to see a game did it buncha years before!

In SR2 I saw a poster for the movie Due Date with Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifinakis. It was so weird.

I found the ads folder in the SR2 PC version. Was kinda hoping to figure out something to allow me to just drop in artwork that would show up on the billboards where the ads used to be. Still playing around with it off and on. If anyone else has an idea or has figured it out, I'd love to hear it.

Saints row 1 and 2 were so good everything after was poop but the new one looks good hopefully they cam bring all the great things that made siants row to the reboot

I can't wait for the reboot tbh. The character customization looks insane and I love how you can share and download characters.

That's why I think it's absolutely stupid to pay good money for a game that's primary focus is multiplayer *(like some of the more recent COD and Battlefield games)* or makes heavy use of online features *(like pretty much anything made by Ubisoft and those recent Hitman games).* They are essentially renting the servers and once they're down... they're down for good and you now own a useless piece of plastic.

I remember me and my friends used to get on SR1 every day and compete against other gangs in Protect the Pimp and Blinged Out Ride, we used to have so much fun lol but one day we got on and the Gang tab didn't work, we were so confused and didn't know what was going on. It wasn't until a couple weeks later we found out the servers were shut down, it was a sad day 😂

Man the fact that they didn't fix the gang servers still irks me to this day. It literially killed a massive part of the game and wasn't the same after they went.
