Jesus told us the only way to the Father is through Him. We need to pray for the saving knowledge of Jesus to the Father in HIs Son’s name, not pray to Mary, saints and angels. Mary the mother of Jesus herself would not want you to pray to her. Go to the source. Go to the Father. I pray that your receive this comment as a gift to better your prayer life as you obey Jesus as to how to pray.

@@paddymeboy No need to ask saints to pray. Petitioning saints to pray for you is not Biblical. Where in scripture is this ritual taught? Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father..." As a believer in Jesus, we have access to the Father.

@@alicemattsen2208 Have you ever asked someone to pray for you or someone else? That is all we Catholics are doing when we say we 'pray to' Mary or Joseph or any of the Saints or St Michael. This is in addition to all of our prayers especially the holy Mass the greatest prayer of all. We join our prayers to Jesus who offers himself to the father. There are special graces that Saints can beg for us to have. St Monica prayed for 16 years that her wayward son would repent his wayward life. He converted and became an extremely important church father. It isn't his power we are asking when we ask him to pray for us. We are asking if he can beg God on our behalf if we too can have a little of the type of grace it took that ultimately saved him. They can intercede on our behalf in addition to being a good example to us in better living our Christian lives

St. Monica give me strength and wisdom to be a good mother like you. I'm praying for my son becoz he don't want to go church and even he don't want to participate in family prayer. He spend his time with his evil friends and everyday drunk. But my hope is that one day he will come back like St. Augustin. St. Monica is my Patrick Saint how her prayer change the life of son. Why on earth are you praying to a dead person, this is pagan and Idolatry. Pray to the only true and Living GOD, and the LORD JESUS CHRIST. read the Bible daily and flee from this false religion of praying to the dead. You need to watch this movie agine, especially as Augustin approaches St Ambros you are missing something so important that has devastating Eternal consequences. You must reject all Religious beliefs and turn to Jesus Himself. He is our mediator between God and man. And not a dead person, or Mary.

When even the Bible the pagans own was edited to their own likings and not the ones established by Jesus Christ. You even ignore the fact that Ambrose states the Bible should not be taken word for word. What else do you ignore of the teachings instructed to us by Jesus Christ? Only the priest has the authority bestowed by Jesus Christ, as was to his apostles, to interpret the Bible. No one Christian, pagan, king or Buddhist has been granted the authority to preach the teachings of the gospel but a Catholic priest.

😢Wow St Ambrose defending the basilica …sadly sounds all too familiar in our time! I pray for Bishop Strickland and many other Church leaders and priest who face persecution for preaching the truth against the plague of modernism in the church! God having mercy on us and Christ’s church!

Pain, suffering, sacrifices, love, hate, ambition, failure, success, war, peace etc have been engraved in everyone's journey in this world. Each one of us choose a different path hoping it'll lead us to attain whatever we desire & whatever makes us happy. Truth is, we are just a " passerby" in this world. When our trail ends, we'll leave everything behind, everything we worked hard! Treasure what is important & that is to cultivate our relationship with God, choose HIM, love HIM and HIS people & help others around you to do the same! Inspiring movie, kudos!

Living (on the earth) saints perform miracles and are asked to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth. The saints that have passed on are asleep awaiting the resurrection. Jesus was and still is the only mediator the Father approves between Him and Man. Why is this so hard for Catholics today to grasp!

@@sishrac That is simply your opinion. You have no divine guarantee for the conclusions you arrive at. The Church arrives at truth of doctrine, not a crackpot running around with the Bible. The early Church refute your assertions about the saints. And BTW Christ IS the one mediator, that is Catholic teaching. So why do you ask the prayers of others?

And she is one that I pray to when I am praying for my daughter. grandchildren and brother. My mother prayed like St. Monica all her life since the age of 9 attended daily mass. Just recently she passed away because of the last stage of dementia. On her death bed for 2 days non stop she mumbled the Hail Mary. She also put her two hands on my daughters head, who is now an atheist, so I know she was blessing her. Just before she died she raised her arms in the air and said: Hallelujah!

I thought I knew the Psalms very well until I read his book “St. Augustine on the Psalms” I then realised just how little I knew. I really love this movie about him and his adorable mother. God is indeed Love, as St John wrote, and His Love was expressed in one very specific way: by giving His only begotten Son over to death for us. (John 3:16) Because His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, gave His own life to save the whole world, He is the One who deserved to be raised from the dead and to be exalted above all things and to Whom every knee shall bow. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) Truth and Love are inseparable.

One has to sacrifice when we love ,but love it is that stands the test of time .Love endures in adversity .. To the one watching it .know that Love is everything ..
