Nice to see you again Dylan. If you see a little yellow gaff cutter sailing out of Brightlingsea give us a wave. Always been a fan of yours, best wishes for some good sailing, love to see whatever easy-to publish vids you feel like putting up. Your "KTL102 VLOG whisper Secret" shows me sailing past you at Shotley, pointing out to my crew "That's Dylan Winter, I recognise the Mirror Offshore"

Libby Purves and Paul Heiney did a similar thing with their Cornish Crabber Cutter as detailed in One Summers Grace. Made a terrible graunching sound as she settled which kept them awake half the night. Hope you fare better.

Next video should be entertaining . I hope the leg base has enough of an enlarged square foot print to take up the sludge compression or it will be a glass of hard stuff - great vid. 👍

Well? It’s the next day now….. your public awaits ! And sorry for not seeing that you HAD attached the steadying ropes that I thought you had missed off that I mentioned in my previous comment, of course you had……. It all looks a good strong job and if you’ve done your sums right will work a treat…. should be a game changer!

Hello Dylan. The dayboat with the blue cover looks very much like a Stiffkey Cockle which was built at Stiffkey and club sailing based at Morston. You commented on them when you visited Blakeney Harbour a few years ago. Are you still on the Deben? Charles

Any other set of legs I’ve seen have steadying ropes fore and aft from the bottom to cleats on the fore and aft decks stop them from moving.... errrr fore and aft and collapsing when the tide shifts. I am probably talking b@locks but that seems the way to do it. Maybe you’ve done that and not shown it on the film ? R

You can clearly see the for and aft rigging at the bottom of the leg as it is launched gleefully over the side

Just click the three dots on the right of your message to edit or delete. And he has made legs for the boat so it will sit flat when the tide goes out.
