No boat goat….maybe a cat cat! I like your sign best!

Amy did such a great job on the sign! And I think I could live with a cat on a cat before a boat goat! 😆
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I vote for Louie and Debb.
Get a boat goat !!! 🤣😂😁 Sorry David!

@@OutChasingStars You two clearly love eachother and it shows, that's one of the things I like about your channel. What happens in the barnyard stays in the barnyard, ( so I've herd...)
Can we get an update on the solar production while cruising the Bahamas? Based on your southbound passage from NJ in the winter sun it shoud be more than enough. Even for limited AC. I can only relate this to our southern run in our RV in the winter towards Texas and Arizona where the solar production is limited. In winter sunlight we go from around 2.7x up to 4x the array size on a sunny day in total solar per day. So for a 1k array that would be 2.7kwh to 4kwh per day. For your system that would be 8.6 to 12 kw per day! Also, have you thought about adding the water heater as a "dump load" when your system is above 95% full. You could automate the water heater to turn on at 95% and off at 90% with the Victron system.

You'll be happy to hear that I've been keeping a daily log of solar production and electrical consumption (including noting which big draw items we use) pretty much ever since we got to the Bahamas and we're definitely planning a detailed video. But in a spoiler, we've not had a single day where we needed to run an engine for additional power generation. We are pretty good about moderating our electrical usage if we have several cloudy days but the solar has kept up with everything. Recently, we've been trying to stress test the system a bit more to see just HOW much power we could make and we almost hit 14kw in a day. It's pretty easy to use less power than that, even with an air con running all afternoon. As for the hot water... yes, we did wire in something special as hot water was Amy's big improvement wish. I found a programmable relay that I've set to heat water twice a day. Once in the morning so we can have hot water showers after our workout, and the second time in the later afternoon for doing dishes + another shower if we want. It's not timed to the 'optimal' solar generation like doing the Victron system relay idea but we've had so much solar generation that it hasn't been a problem.

@@OutChasingStars Thank you for the detailed response. Exactly what I was looking for regarding solar power production!!! Very much looking forward to the update video!!! I am a retired engineer boondocking on Solar in an RV. I do use spreadsheets extensively to work these things out. Your power audit and battery capacity spreadsheets look very much like mine. These videos are super helpful if/when I go from an RV to a cat. You guys are awesome kids😀
Very fun video, guys.... hard choice on the best sign. Amy, you can do anything! I'm impressed with your painting! Maybe a mini-boat-goat? Takes less room and might fit under an airplane seat if you fly somewhere. :) Nice job here, David. Hugs from us to you.

Amy has put a lot of work and practice into her artwork. It's been fun to watch! And does that mean we could bring a mini-boat-goat to say... the South Pacific?? 😉

@@OutChasingStars I know you and Amy are very hard workers. And just as her art has come along, so too your videos, David. Truly nice work! I don't know how you get it all done....I have avoided videos as it takes so long to edit and find music. As for a mini-boat-goat in the SP; hmmm, I understand it is getting easier to get dogs/cats in, but that is still a process. I'm guessing a , whatever the size, would add several layers of complication! 🐐are pretty cute though. Still, I don't know how to house train a goat so, yeah, I would actually pass.
There's at least 2 hog cay's in the bahamas. Which did you guys go to?

That's what I was wondering also. There's a beautiful private island that used to be called Hog Cay but is now referred to as Blue Island or Torch Cay. It's at the end of the Exumas.

They did make a great sign! The name is based on a worldview in Japanese aesthetics that is "centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection." A pretty great boat name!
No boat goats they eat the rigging and lines besides making a mess.
