Sailing Scotland - The Mull Of Kintyre - Episode 2

In this Episode we get to put up all of our canvas for the first time since our test sail! Then we head on down to Cambeltown to round the Mull of Kintyre. We had heard lots about The Mull of Kintyre so went in not knowing quite what to expect.....
We want to thank every single person for joining us on our new adventure :D
Thanks for watching our crazy videos :D If you could like to keep up to date with us then you can follow us on facebook or Instagram. We also have a website with more information about Morna and her History :)

    Gigha = "Geeya". Loch Riddon = errr,,,"Loch Riddon" ( rhymes with hidden ) Lovely pastoral little island to walk or cycle around. Somebody gave you duff gen ,it's a wee jewel. Mull of Kintyre - you were lucky . Can be a real nasty spot . Flat calm to six foot standing waves in 100 metres. Nice boat and dug .

    ' Ol Lance on bow, leashed in his safety harness, looks out across the rippling water, as land passes him by, and thinks to himself.' Another well presented video and i must say as a retired master wood worker, this vessel is absolutely beautiful, i stop and pause all through looking at the craftsmanship, cant wait for more..

    Great to see you Two guys & the New Crew Lance the Wonder Dog. WOW!!! Morna is something else it is great that you are looking after a piece of UK Maritime history but in a way that we your viewers get to see the ups and downs of a Wooden Vintage Boat. As for Matts Belly, I think a few Tacking sessions and sail adjustments without winches will bring Matt back into His Lean Mean Fighting Machine Physique you once knew him for or failing that it is back to the Gym . Joking a part Great to see another Veteran Living The Dream Mate and the both of you back on the Tube love watching your adventures

    Lochranza, July 1984, flat calm, super sunset, we went ashore to pub, back to boat for a malt [whisky], bed. 1.00 am, the katabatic wind forced us out, we popped like a cork, lost dinghy oars, put on the safety gear. Arrived Tarbet, Loch Fyne 06.00, flat calm, perfect sunrise, Went to sleep for the rest of the day!. No moorings in those byegone days, but no holding in the anchorage due to kelp Ram in paper measurement. Reel is something like a reel o thread. Also Highland reel = dance.

    7:34 Pardon this old Canuck but that's known as a brail to collapse the wind out of your sail. Reef points are parallel lines of short ropes for reefing down or shortening your sail by hauling down and reefing around the boom. Lovely ketch btw.

    Actually I think it's a big old fat arsed red flag that reeks of misandry, entitlement and disrespect. We all know what would happen if the genders were swapped. Melt down. I don't see the public emasculation and shaming of men to be comedy stock. Not like he is earning it. Seems to be a perfectly amiable and competent bloke and a loving partner.. And the hurt was written all over his face. Don't sell your soul for sex, mate. It's over rated. She needs to learn some respect for men. Noticed a couple of put downs in the one and a half episodes I have watched. I love the ketch but she can walk the plank if this doesn't improve.

    Hey guys, nice to see you back and sailing again. A couple of observations, the first being advertising... When we watched this episode it started with a 5 minute advert. Now if you're monetizing your channel then, if I'm correct from what I have learnt, you only get money if people have watched the entire advert. Very few will do that and I am not one of them. It would be better to put a 10 sec advert in that you can't skip and that should hopefully increase your revenue. Secondly, we watch YT on our TV app so navigating to put a like in the box it a bit of a mission and takes 5X as long to accomplish. When you finish your episode quite abruptly we don't have the opportunity to like it so a 10 sec at the end will give us time to like the vid. Are you guys not charging your batteries from your engine or is the genny a backup charger? No real place to put static solar panels but what about flexi panels that you can lie out on deck and roll away? That's all for now but also have to say that Morna is looking stunning. It would be nice to have your Dad get some vid from his boat of Morna under sail or get the drone out!!! lol Fair winds ;)

  • @LivingWithTheTide

    @LivingWithTheTide

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely sort out for the next video :) the monetization was an accident as a false copy right claim added it in, weve now been able to sort ourselves so will change it now :) Weve actually been thinking about the flexi panels so that we can charge when needed and roll away so definitely something to look into :)
