Join us this week as we brave the cold spring temperatures in the uk as we go sailing for the 1st time since lockdown
Welcome to Cactus sailing where we are sailing the uk, and sailing uk waters, This season we’re heading west to the scilly isles but in future we hope to go sailing and travel further to France or Spain.
Our true ambition is to go sailing around the world cruising along the way in our sailing boat, although our boat might not be up to getting to the Mediterranean (for our comfort levels anyway)
To that point we may change the Bavaria 30 in the future for a bluewater sailing yacht or a liveaboard boat which we can live full time.
But for now the English channel is our ocean and sailing the pacific can be left to other sailing yachts like la vagabonde, we will stick to the south coast sailing until we follow in many others footprints.
This sailing vlog and this season you will see our life on board namely boat life in our tiny floating house as we avoid the storms and go off cruising the uk south coast which isnt quite blue water cruising but the tides and winds sure make for a challenging ride!

Always enjoy your vlogs 😃👍 Actually sailed past Weymouth / Portland May 15th delivering a sailing yacht from Bermuda to Amsterdam … we initially planned to dock in Weymouth but unfortunately the new regulations and restrictions killed that plan 🥴🥴 Was still very cold then as well 🥶🥶 Looking forward to your next vlog, thanks in advance from Amsterdam 🙏😃

its been a cold spring this year, this was filmed at the end of march so even colder back then! just haven't had a chance to get the editing done until recently, now its warmer and the restrictions aren't as tight we are getting about a bit more again! I'm yet to sail a proper ocean, so I'm quite envious of the Bermuda to Amsterdam trip... one day!
Roots showing near the end there, my Nottinghamshire auntie always called me duck!

It’s a Dan buoy, if someone falls in the water you can throw it in and it’s connected to a horseshoe floatation device. It just helps you identify where they are in a heavy sea as it has a big pole and flag on it :) Thanks for watching!
And I really want to go to Weymouth! Fancy swapping yachts? Lol 😀
