Saidane's Safe Carbon Transfer Printing Part 05 - Forming the Image
In this video we'll form an image on a tissue after sensitizing it, exposing it to a UV light and developing it. The tissue is then sandwiched with the sized paper to start the image transfer process.
Sensitizer:
For 100ml of sensitizer (12 sheets of 8x10'' or more):
50ml of distilled water
1g of oxalic acid
4g of Ferric Ammonium Citrate
50ml of acetone or isopropyl alcohol
Developer:
A solution of 0.3% of hydrogen peroxide.
I usually run my experiments on small pieces of tissue and paper (4x5'' or smaller) first so I don't waste too much resources.

Hello Habib, great series of videos. TFS. How do you overcome the oxygen inhibition problem that CHIBA paper talks about? Don't you need to use an upper covering layer of agar-agar to create anaerobic conditions on the main gelatine layer?

Thank you so much. I overcame it by simply not knowing about CHIBA and not reading that paper about it first. I was always wondering if there is a substitute to the dichromate and luckily enough I read a paper by Charles Guerin who used fish glue for the CHIBA process. Since it's hard to find that glue in the US, I tried Titebond Glue instead and it worked perfectly. I used it a lot, but it was kind of expensive so the idea came to me to substitute it with gelatin and magically it worked great. Later on I was told about the paper and I read it and I still have no idea about the oxygen inhibition. I tried hide and rabbit glue in and agar agar in powder form but they didn't work for me. Try it, it's lots of fun.

Sure you can, I would place it in amber glass bottle with a tight cap in a cool place away from the sun light.
