Sage Tea + Sage and Salt Water Gargle, Natural Remedy for Sore Throats

Ойын-сауық

Cindy said: "It's Dr Lowdog's recipe. She has gargled with more herbs if you want to research her. This is how I do it: Bring one cup of water to a boil. Add 2 tsp fresh sage cut into strips, and steep for 10 mins. Strain and add 1/4 tsp salt. Stir to dissolve and gargle every 1 to 2 hours."
What I did: Used several sage leaves, bruised them slightly, added them to a teapot and added around 1.5 to 2 cups of very hot water. I left the sage to infuse for 5 minutes. Made a lovely clear, fresh and delicious mug of sage tea and enough left over to make a sage tea gargle. I used 1/4 cup of sage tea and 1/2 tsp of salt.

I'm so happy you enjoyed the sage tea. I hope the gargle helps too. The salt should help draw out any infection and the sage soothes your throat. Xx ❤

Oh yes it hits the spot! Dried sage works too. Dried sage with honey too. Thyme is helpful for a cold too.

Put a couple leaves of fresh sage in some honey let sit up for 3 months. Great for sore throat. About 3 leaves in a pint of honey.

I know you are vegan but I like to have hot tea with lemon and honey. honey I get from a small local beekeeper who relocated several swarms that entered my house. Since I am diabetic, I usually only get like a pint a year from him and invite him to bring his hives over to my 10 acres of wild pastures to feed on. Honey and lemon hot is just lovely. You can also slice a lemon and ginger, put that into a jar, add honey and shake it every 30 minutes. the lemon and ginger is pulled out and into the honey and makes a lovely syrup to add to just plain hot water. Not sure if Sugar water would work but that's what I use when my throat is roached out. going to buy some sage and try that tea myself.

Do you not have a dental access clinic near you? I used ours once and it was superb. Hope you're feeling better, though not for anything could I drink sage tea! Even the thought makes me feel queasy. Sage is good for menopausal symptoms too, just sayin'.
