Safety Speed 72GP Automatic Edge Bander Best tool of 2023 Part 2
In part 1 of this series I did an overview of the @SafetySpeedManufacturing 72GP Automatic Edge Bander. In this video I show you this Edge Bander in action and show you how to adjust different setting on it. This video will also show you the finish results on some one sided prefinished maple plywood.
This tool is only second to my cnc in my shop in terms of how much it makes my shop more efficient. They really work together, the cnc cuts out all of my pieces on a nesting program called mozaik and the edge bander finishes up those cut parts.
Growing a cabinet one tool at a time can slow, but with the right tools, jobs can get pumped a lot faster and more efficiently than by hand.

That thing is a beast. Had no idea just how many adjustments there are to get it working perfectly but once you get it dialed in.... wow... what a time saver!

Yea it’s one of my favorite tools in the shop. Takes some time to get it dialed in but like you said once it is, it’s a huge time and labor saver!
This is my second favorite machine in your shop to watch in action. My first is the CNC.

Looks great, Nolan. On the smaller parts, can you CNC them just big enough so you can send them through the edgebander and then quickly rip to the correct size on the table saw?

Thank you Joe. I would have to see if it possible to modify specific parts in mozaik. That’s the software I use to cut out all my cabinet parts.
Hey great video, how large of a panel can you do ? can it do large pantry cabinet sides ?

Yes I have done 24” x 90” panels for a pantry. There is a lot more videos available to see of it in action on my instagram page
Did you run into issues such as speed difference between edge band feeder and board feeder.?

No the speed of the edge band is controlled by the board rolling up against a roller that is attached to a belt that is attached to the edge band dispenser. They basically all work off of each other.
