Safest Beach in south Trinidad
Trinidad and Tobago has many beaches, in this video we take a road trip to what may be considered the safest beach in south Trinidad. Along the way we travel on part of the new highway extension and see part of the countryside on the outskirts of Rousillac. Although we lost our way we eventually reconnected with our desired route to the beach in La Brea, which is called Station Beach.

Lovely video and the scenery reminds me of the scenes in Jamaica. Sadly, I believe you folks experience similar fears we have in regards to potential violent crimes in hot spot areas.

Wow, this beach has definitely changed from when I was a kid. Back then the water came all the way up to the yellow sand with big waves, that's why there is that concrete wall, meant to protect the magistrate's house. Nothing stays the same.

Wow I was on that side of Trinidad that same day. I tried driving into Carat shed beach around 1pm and it was full to the brim, so I turned back and tried locating this particular beach but I took all the wrong turns lol. So I gave up and went Clifton Hill 😂 I'm from Penal btw

But I went back 2 days after which was the Monday. I asked a friend for directions who is familiar with the area and found it. Plus when I went back Monday, the water was calm and blue and the sand was pretty

@@kamilahfigaro8909 Yes finding that beach is very easy and there are two routes. One way is to enter at the Pitch Lake side and just follow the road. The other route is to enter near the recreation ground (close to the road to Carat Shed) and again just follow the road. However both routes have some bad sections were you have to drive very slowly. I am glad you found it and on a day when the water was blue.
🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
My friend, you made the same mistake like I did. You were supposed to exit left before you got on to that long highway if you're going to Rousillac or La Brea.
@pointboy12

I assume by exit left you are referring to the old Southern Main Road. We went on the Highway because we wanted to see it.

Why is the sand so dark?
@pointboy12
Жыл бұрын
I do not know. You will notice that initially the sand is a golden brown color and then changes to a dark color. I believe the dark sand is the section of the beach that is covered by water at high tide.
@ianbynoe6515

@@pointboy12 , do you know if silt comes in on the beach sometimes? That could be the problem. Because both Guyana and Venezuela suffer from this problem and their beaches looks exactly like this.
@pointboy12
Жыл бұрын
@@ianbynoe6515 I believe that is part of th reason because this beach is on the Gulf of Paria and so would have some of the river outflow in the rainly season. I also believe that the dark color is contributed to by the closeness of the Pitch Lake.
Why they water so brown?

I do not know. Usually in the dry season the water is clearer.

No strong underwater currents and the pitch lake is nearby, so that may be why the sand is the dark colour

tide is going back, where he calls dark sand is where the water line normally is... the beaches in LA Brea are safe due to the fact it don't have big waves. No big waves to beat yuh body lol. but look out for oil and sometimes the water can be very dirty
