So it depends from case to case..n u need to decide as per ur patient .so ideally if there's a lot of infection u can prescribe a course of antibiotics which will in turn bring down pain automatically as the infection comes down..n moreover if u feel that u can't give PCT and antibiotic won't give relief to the patient immediately if it's severe u may plan an emergency treatment for such patient it's not contraindicated in 1st trimester..n moreover..diclo is not contraindicated as such in first trimester more precautions need to be taken while administering it in third trimester as it causes premature closure PDA..and if not sure just prescribe antibiotics and let them take analgesics prescribed by gynaec...they may sometimes prescribe opioid analgesics too..n try to treat the patient for cause if needed..

Try to use plain Amoxicillin 500 mg as the there are not enough studies for the use of clavulanic acid..but if it's quite an emergency procedure..just write and obtain consent for prescribing Amclav-625 mg from the gynaec..

Amoxicillin or Azithromycin may be prescribed depending on the symptoms of the patient..

No it's safe to give paracetamol..give plain dolo-650.

Hello maam, actually i have a serve too ache so my dental suggest me amoxycillin /clavulanate (hipen clav625) for 3 days but i take only day dose (2 medicine). Can that harm mu baby...plzz tell me

Hmmm..it's k..but if it was too severe this time..try getting the treatment done in 2nd trimester to avoid any medicines further..u may take plain dolo for pain and Amoxicillin for infection of you are not allergic to any of the medicines if u have pain further..

Plain paracetamol is what we prescribe in pregnancy for pain..and ensure that you are not allergic to it..n inform your gynaec before taking any medicine..

It's k..don't worry..though side effects are reported for the drug..it's a relatively safe drug..and moreover u have taken 1 tablet..now avoid taking it further in 1st trimester..n you may inform your gynaec about any medicines that you take..don't take any medicines without their advice.

What about ciprofloxacine? Is it safe during pregnancy?

No..it belongs to FDA category C..so an alternative antibiotic should be prescribed..u can watch the video..I have mentioned about it..

@@fortheloveofteaching-drshi5011 yes, because of vaginal infection.. he prescribed it just today. I think I am pregnant but I took pregnancy test and it was negative. But I still have 3 days before my period will come.

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1365-2036.2005.02654.x You can refere to this article for details..they are quite safe but it is advised that the management is mainly done by dietary modifications..mostly the gynaec of the patient usually puts the patient on PP inhibitors during pregnancy..as there is prolonged gastric emptying time in pregnancy and mostly patients present with gastritis..that history needs to be taken before prescribing anything..n moreover PP inhibitors fall under category B..they are safe..except Omeprazole which is category C..you can refer to the article that I have mentioned..
