Thank you Mam for explaining yet another very important topic.. Mam in breastfeeding mothers, when there's symptomatic apical periodontitis, irreversible pulpitis, or grossly decayed teeth and the patient is not convinced to do RCT or extraction in the later case and all they want from you to give medication for the same...And we normally give amoxicillin + potassium clavulanate which belongs to FDA category B and for pain we give paracetamol.. but the patient comes next day or few days after and complains that the pain is still there. It only subsides for a short period of time and comes back..Mam what to do in this situation? Is there any Data available regarding switching to other NSAIDS?

In such cases it is usually good to do an access opening..take an x-ray and atleast open the canal where maximum infection is there so that pus can drain....and in breastfeeding mothers we can anywaz do RCT..

Why only 2nd trimester is safe maam? In 1st trimester there is organogenesis and In 3rd trimester there is development of organ.. in 2nd trimester there should be developmental processes ?.. I mean 2nd trimester me bhi to kuch na kuch hota hoga?? Hope you understand my problem maam 🙏

Mam on 11th day(menstural day) my teeth implantion is there.. And I'm trying to conceive can I go for dental implant ?

Doctor could you advise me . My wife in india now. She 5 Month pregnent and suffering from tooth pain.1visit Doc advise her for root canal. Another opinion she met with another Doc and 2 Doc advise not take any medicine . Just pain relief gel. But now my is suffering heavy tooth pain . What is the best option?

Just pain relief gel is not going to give her relief..she can be be prescribed a basic pain killer and an antibiotic..I can't prescribe you over KZread sir due to the regulations..since it's her second trimester..she can definitely take a few medications..n even RCT is considered safe during 2nd trimester..if the doctor feels that it may again come up in third trimester..then she can get it done..cause we try to avoid treatment in first as well as third trimester...or atleast access opening may be done to relieve her of pain..which is the first step of RCT..hope this is helpful..

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with bad lower left tooth pain. I have a small ball on bottom of chin it hurts n I cant eat. I fear I have a abcess tooth do I need general anesthesia to drain the abcess I'm scared

No u do not need general anaesthesia at all for drainage..in fact sometimes even the local anaesthesia is not needed in certain cases as the tooth is completely dead in cases of abscess .

Yes it can be .but we usually avoid any procedures during first month..we just try to manage it with painkillers only..it is the period wen the organs of the baby are developing..and if pain doesn't subside we do an emergency treatment..otherwise we try to delay it to second trimester..
