    Im a LEO in Texas, I bought the 6390RDS for my duty pistol about 2 years ago and l don't have any problems good solid holster, but l always wanted a 6345DO and l picked one up the other day for 120 Dollars so far lm happy with my purchased and lm pleased with both holsters, l like the QLS attachment because l like changing the holsters plus in my opinion is always good to have a backup holster incase one fails. Good video man.

    Thanks man I appreciate it! I keep all my holsters on rotation and use all of them "almost" equally, the 6354 does get a tad more use over the 6390

    With the 6390 I had the same problem with you on the ride height instead I put the qls plate on the top 2 threads and missed the bottom third one. I bought the 6378RDS which is cheaper, all you have to do is buy a qls plate. The 6378rds has the same ride height as the 6354DO but includes the rds hood. You could also buy the 6354RDS but you’ll be waiting months to buy it because I can’t find any dealer that sells them in stock. With regards to lock up I felt on my one that I had a better draw than on the 6354DO (but that’s preference). I also never had a problem with the cordura coming off on RDS holsters, I would question the QC on that specific holster if it’s peeling off and leaking through on the first day you used it.

    asking because I am new to active retention holsters, but I thought that lockup is intentional? my Safariland does the same thing if I try to draw without hitting the release, so I was wondering if this is an issue with the retention.

    Yes it is supposed to do that to a certain extent, but my issue lies with once pressure is applied it is nearly impossible to get the button to release and allow me to draw. Its not present on my 6354DO's and you can pull and pull and pull and keep pulling and hit the button no problem and it releases.

    Is the 6390 here the same as your first video? Color looks way different. Lighting? I like the old video color better. Lol

    We have does holster at work. It was made intentionally by the manufacturer for safety if someone tries to pull the officers gun. The trick is to push the pistol down then pull the als knob and pull the pistol straight out. Let me know if it works.

    Try grabbing a Glock 19 or 17 with an rmr and a Surefire x300u then tuck it into one of these safariland holsters.

    Is there a chance that your drawing problem with the 6390, could be because you are used to draw with a Nubmod and the 6390 doesnt have one? Mine for a glock 17 works perfectly under force drawing as you mentioned, even when I use my airsoft 19 that sits deeper than my 17.

    Negative, the nub is a recent addition, both holsters were used "stock" for about a year and a half before the 6354 got the nub and portal. Unfortunately I think I just got an out of spec 6390 and I need to get another to confirm my thoughts

    @@RedactedGear I think you are right it must be out of spec. I’m a former LEO no stranger to safariland holsters (as that’s all I was ever aloud to use by policy) and I recently got a 6390RDS. I have been very pleased with it, especially considering that I’m no longer bound by policy to have level2 retention, and I experienced none of the drawbacks youve mentioned. If anything, the ALS clears faster and more reliably than my previous duty holsters (which were always non RDS or DO and would hang up if you didn’t hit it just right). Anyway I can’t fault you for testing your gear and finding what you like. Cheers brother 🤙🏽

    If someone gets upset by someone else's holster preference, they should seek professional psychiatric help. If someone gets upset and downs on a guy who isn't quite conditioned with the cadence of using the functions of a potentially defective holster, they should get professional help. I carry a similar holster on duty, have for years. While the toggle does require to be moved fully to the rear to unlock the weapon, that particular model looks like it requires WAY too much rearward movement to do it. It might have something to do with contract requirements being more stringent for the service variant, but it does look like it'd be a pain to try and work with. Could you learn to live with it, sure you could? Do you have to? No, you don't. I've been a cop for 27 years and have a series of injuries, including a bad back. I had to stop carrying the Safariland models for the full-sized weapon lights because even in the high ride set-up, it would leverage against the seatbelt and seat in the cruiser and torque my back. Finally, Safariland came out with a duty holster variant with all the locking features, designed for the TLR7 compact weapon light and I got a medical dispensation to switch to that instead of the department-issued rig. The top of the holster clears the external vest and doesn't push up against the seat while in a vehicle. You choose equipment because of how it works for YOU and YOUR needs, not because of hype or to make some dingle-berry on the internet feel more confident in the rig he probably doesn't wear regularly anyway. Don't feed the trolls.

    Will a 6390RDS G17/G22 fit a G19?

  • @RedactedGear

    @RedactedGear

    It should but it may be sloppy, if the 19 has a comp it should fit a 17 holster with the barrel plug removed

    Will the DO fit a Glock 19 with a inforce wild 2?

  • @RedactedGear

    @RedactedGear

    Жыл бұрын

    Probably not, the two holsters in this video rely almost entirely on the light, the Tlr and x300 are very similar in shape and the bottom of the holster hugs the lights in a way to prevent slop. I don’t have any experience with the light you are asking about but unless it’s almost identical to either light I mentioned it probably wouldn’t work too well, id look into a different option or different light
