Thank you so much for playing this version of this song. I was told the crowd was just over 10,000 and they sang the whole song. This was about the 30-year war and so many Swedes were born and died during this war. That's why this song could be the alternate Swedish National anthem because there wasn't a single person in that crowd that didn't have an ancestor didn't who fight in that war.

We definitely sing the whole song!🤘😄 A week ago I was standing in a crowd here in Sweden (in a smaller venue though) singing this song just like this. Amazing is an understatement! Great reaction, btw!🤘

Now , aren't you glad we convinced you to do this live version? To have that many people singing together just takes it to another level. They have a number of videos shot from this point of view.

When you hear a band that has it live, it just sweeps all the others away.

There are some bands that just excel at live shows, feeding off the intensity of the crowd, while others are obviously just going through the motions. Sabaton, Epica, Blind Guardian, NW are among those that never fail to amaze when live. I won't name the lame bands, but we all know who they are.

Pretty big choir for the backing vocals LOL. The Swedish version lyrics hit so much harder than the English lyrics since they directly address the experiences of a single soldier from his entry in the army at a young age to his death in battle. Props to Sabaton for creating these awesome songs that keep the memories of the sacrifice, courage, and humanity of our forebearers. I also found the perspective this was filmed at interesting and unusual, giving a different feel to the video. I believe all of the live videos from The Great Tour were shot from the stage looking out at the crowd. Great reaction, stay safe, God Bless, and keep rocking Sabaton.

Almost feel sorry for you guys, you got so hammered yesterday not doing the ”right version” 😂😂 But I’m damn glad that you took your time shooting this version as well, shoutout to you guys!! It’s an amazing and emotional song! I went on a cruise in December (Sabaton rented the ship) almost 2000 people rocking with Sabaton (gave 2 concerts on the cruise) plus other bands as well. I’m going to see them in Stockholm in April as well. You guys should really react to Sabatons ”Price of a mile” and if you do that, I’d like to ask you to take a look at Sabaton history channel and their episode of this song, it’s just horrifying conditions these soldiers was exposed to, take 20-25 min of your life to check it out to get a better understanding of the song (before you react to the song itself)! Thanks for a great reaction ❤

I am glad you watched the live Swedish version. The crowd at the show was totally into it and pretty much all of them had family members that were involved in the war the song is about. The Swedish version is done from the viewpoint of the person living the song. The English version is from the view of a person on the outside looking at the overall picture. This song has been considered a alternate Swedish National Anthem. It is very powerful, as you can feel the emotion of the crowds.

Its the story about the 30 years war 1618-1648 from a young swedish boys perspective, sent out to a war somewhere in Europe. Some consider the 30 years war as the actual WW1 cause so many nations where involved and so many had to die far from home on a battlefield in a foreign country. During this time sweden was a warrior nation, constantly at war with Russia, Denmark, Germany or Poland. At the same time this war was going on sweden fought in other battles, so with exception for just a few years, sweden were constantly at war for 90 years. That is mindblowing! I think the swedes got tired of war and battles, first during the viking age, then the middle ages, because since 1814 we've had peace and not been involved in any conflicts. 🇸🇪

The official number for the recruitment age went down to 16 years old in the late stages of the war and whole villages were missing generations of men. The real recruitment age was probably lower

This isn´t abouut WW1 or WW2. This song is about the 30 year war in the 1600. A war Sweden was a major part of. it took place in germany and was among other the result of an religius conflict between catholism and protestantism. The 30-year war is considered as the bloodiest war ever taken place
