Yes Saaga is built for grappling, a spinning hook, and overall defense with height and width not being too tall therefore it can handle more aggression without falling over. The other robots have such long legs with skinny bodies and just a dance move for an attack, so it's obvious Saaga is better.

Exactly! I don't understand why the other bots are built so tall and limber, while Saaga is dominating the scene with this unique design. Also technique is key. You want to stay as low to the ground as possible.

I could see Saaga's suplex all day long and never get bored.

It's SAAGA SUPLEX

The fact that saaga is perfectly well balanced, both literally, and statistically in terms of his attacks, is what makes him perfect. He doesnt focus on a lot of things, he only focuses on one, and that makes him perfect. His feet are wide, and hes relatively fast as well. Hes perfectly designed right after real wrestlers

Seems like competitors focus too much on the "hands" to grip, where Saaga uses the whole arm to make grabs. Saaga also seems to have a lower center of gravity? Which would make him harder to knock over.

Wrestling/Judo/Jiu Jitsu/Catch wrestling trump the "Aikido style" of grappling even in robot form. Gross motor movements with more secure points of control on opponent defeat fewer/weaker grips on opponent that rely on fine motor skills. Interesting to see the principles play out even here.

The problem with your analysis is that neither any Aikidoka you've seen nor any robot here has the reflexes and fineness of movement to properly put Aiki into practice. You're wrong.

Saaga is champ for a reason, he's heavy as hell and stout. No robot will be taking him out for years to come. Also, he can can actually punch FORWARD and not sideways. Absolute legend.

I actually clapped at that Belly-to-back suplex at 7:04 and woke my dog up.

Saaga is the only one so far that seems like it wouldn't loose to an inanimate cylinder of wood of equal weight

I think Saaga's stability is unparalleled. The feet design makes it very hard to knock the robot over. whereas Hauser just looks unstable with those feet

As near as I can tell. The scoring is 4points for a counter knockdown, 2 points for a clean knockdown. 1point for a knockdown with both bots falling.

The thing about Saaga is that it has multiple forms of attack. I have yet to see any of the other bots do anything else aside trying to sweep up the legs. Saaga has a suplex, a leg grab, a back hand type thing, and can use its leg to sweep and knock down opponents. It's very well designed.

Saaga is perfectly built in terms of balancing self body weight.This is where most of other robot failed badly.Feet size and leg length too is good for withstanding attacks and providing support in attack for saaga and that is not the case with opponents.

wow Saaga is a beast! I love how it can not only attack very well but can also defend its self when being grabbed, what a champion.

Gotta stop making those robots so tall; the champ has a low cg that greatly improves stability

I did not know I wanted this until today. And now I can't get enough.

Ok, so like, K.K. is the main villian, Saaga is the protagonist/hero of the story, and Hauser is the main Rival, who became friends with Saaga through the ring, they have been through it all together, this seems to be one of their finale battles
