Technologies that affect human kinetics can create unintended consequences. I'm all for safe and free of injuries as well, but I don't think a brace is the key though, we need better understanding of how to train ankles, the tendons, and other small muscles of the foot. The foot still has a lot to be discovered still in regard to balance, posture, etc.

The thing is though robots will never be on the same level as humans are in todays society. The reason being is that humans and living things have the unique ability of perception of non exsisten and exsitent objects. Take for example picking up a bowl. How much information goes on inside the extensive pores of the human brain? How many line of code do you thonk it would take for a robot to even realize on which plane of exsitence the bowl is on? Billions? Trillions? Much more than that. A computer CANT think. Sure we have artificial intelligence and learning AI. But humans still have to code and trouble shoot and update those inferior computer parts. Computers just dont have the raw instinct or intellect to ever take over.

this has already happened in chess. Although not a traditional sport like basketball/football chess is also a highly competitive sport with a wide variety of playing styles and approximately a decade ago machines caught up to humans. Today the average chess app on your phone can outplay Magnus Carlsen the best chess player in the world. People thought it'll make the game boring and obsolete but as it turns out watching engines play each other has a different kind of feeling and is quite enjoyable in its own ways. AI and neural networks have definitely influenced the game to a very large extent in chess but I highly doubt that will be the case for basketball. Most likely there will be separate tournaments/leagues for humans and machines and the game we now enjoy will continue to exist without much change "For every door the computers have closed, they have opened a new one" - former world chess champion Vishwanathan Anand

Those robots are never going to be a part of the nba and I think whoever says it will is an imbecile. Not only does its play style look boring, but it takes away from all of the emotion in the game. If this thing is shooting from anywhere with 100% accuracy then it takes away from the crazy moments of will it go in, or will it not. With that thing you already know the outcome, and thats that it absolutely will go in even if its shooting from 50 feet out. It takes away from the great emotion and great human players who will give anything for a chance of winning it all.

Making a shot is one thing, but against real players this AI robot is going to have to learn to maneuver and find the right timing to shoot cause if not that ball is gonna get slapped out of the air quick.

AI is great but I don’t see it physically moving like we do anytime soon. NBA players will still have job security for a long time.

These smart jerseys will be so expensive that you will be able to buy 30-40 normal jerseys for the same cost. Brilliant! Also, jerseys experience wear and tear...

One thing that would be nice about an AI robot in the nba, is that it would (or could be programmed to) follow the actual rules of the game. Unlike most current players. On the other hand, I suppose that a robot that follows the rules wouldn’t be able to win games against players that don’t. I would also guess that a game between two robot teams wouldn’t need any referees either. And no time outs, no fouls, no overtime, etc. I suppose no one would bother watching either.

This inspires me to make a 7ft robot that will be able to dunk shoot and dribble with reinforced learning ai. And when I say dribble my standard is crossovers and spins. If not its just gonna hold the flashlight for me as I build cars that I use to brag to the AI how the car will be more successful than itself.
