I have been doing this same disconnector ramp on all my 1911/2011 pistols for years and I am always surprised not more people know/do it. It takes 5 minutes with a small file and I believe reduces the feeding failures due to low slide energy by quite a bit. Just be careful to not take too much as this is also the material that strips the rounds from the magazine. Don’t take material off that you can’t put back on :)

Yea, I color the bottom of the slide with a sharpie, and run the slide to remove the sharpie to get the exact width and just file a small width the same as the disco. Its easy and makes it a lot smoother.. just some passes, then try it, some more passes and you can feel when its perfect.

Can you do a video of how you fixed the disconnector ramp ? I don’t know how to do it but my slide keeps getting caught and won’t go all the way into battery. I’ve tried breaking it in and lubing but still sucks !
