I had a thought in church the idea. My seven year old was struggling to stay quiet and still and I thought, " The task of childhood is self control over your body. The task of adulthood is self control over the mind."

My husband and I trained our daughters to be still in church by practicing in 20 minute increments at home. We also appealed to their hearts by explaining people come to church to worship God and be fed by the word of God and we don’t want to disrupt or distract that ❤️

I’m struggling with everything that has to do with self mastery. Over eating, laziness with prayers, homemaking and responsibilities, sticking to a schedule, being distracted by my phone or spending time with friends. I needed to hear all of this and thank you for this video! You’re inspiring me to be better!

I would caution you not to say it's laziness but dig more deeply. It may be a lack of self-confidence, a lack of feeling worthy of achieving what you can, deep self-doubt from social or family conditioning or simply exhaustion or burnout. Ask the Lord to help you find the cause. I'm struggling with the same things and I KNOW for a fact I'm not lazy but disheartened. That is likely still a condition with spiritual roots but I don't want you to feel you're lazy when you're really suffering. Find the cause of the suffering and you can start healing.

Have you asked God if there’s something you need to obey in the Gospel? God showed me that I didn’t understand baptism and that it’s more than a symbol. When I saw it as a death and a new start, I got baptized (the other times were just a ritual). I went under one way, and came out another. A dead man, theoretically, can’t sin, meaning that the sin nature is no longer our first nature. We put on Christ. Then we walk by faith remembering that He’s washed away our sin through the waters of baptism and put away the sinful flesh. And then we need to be filled with His Holy Spirit with evidence (speaking in tongues, prophecy). Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a game changer, He helps to be holy and He changes is as we continue in the Word and prayer. Then He commissions us to tell others and disciple them - but it all starts with repentance (turning from sin and turning to God, crying out for Him to give us soft hearts again so we’re convicted by sin). Let us not treat these foundational things as casual, I often find that skipping these foundational things can cause a lot of lack of victory and faith in who the Lord is as well as striving and eventually falling away. A lot of these things are talked about in Romans, Galatians, and other verses in the New Testament. The book of acts helps us understand what our foremost role is as priests and messengers for Christ and gives us this amazing foundation. Hebrews 2:3 - how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

What I find helps a TON is doing something, anything, one little thing towards the right direction. Something is better than nothing. It's okay to wash one dish. It is okay to text one friend to let them you know care. It is okay to make one meal. Then do it again.

I recommend reading the book "Atomic Habits" (shoot, I may do a video series on it). It can help unpack the basic principles that run most human beings with habit setting and ultimately self-control. I would also recommend you pray to God and ask Him to give control over yourself. Ask Him to gift you with resolve, know-how, and skill. Ask Him to help you to better understand how YOU tick. I'm an early bird and have discovered that if I really need something done, I need to make it happen before noon, because after 12p my energy starts slowing down. Others are the opposite in that they get major portions of their load done at night. It helps to know how He designed you so you can with your general tendencies as opposed to against them.

OMGoodness- I just turned 72 and found this channel and SUBSCRIBED! I was a stay at home mom when my 3 children were young then used my teaching degree when they were in school. I retired to care for my grandchild(ren) and since they have been in school I am "Grammy on call". We had some extensive interior renovations done and I can't seem to get a handle on returning the house to "normal" and my eating habits, well, I've already learned about that from Bindi, so I am encouraged! Bless you, Bindi, for being a blessing to other women who seek the Lord in our life!

Just landed on your video, felt at peace and dozed off for a few minutes while listening. The back ground sounds of nature are what I have yearned to hear for years. The your voice is caressing and firm- nurturing, felt convicted 😊 without being screamed at.

I love this video so much this has been on my mind! Fasting and be more mindful what I consumed! Also last week I’ve have had this talk with my co worker saying the biggest goal is for me is becoming a mom and she said she wants to grow in the company become at a the top ! Family makes your rich not a title or position because that can be moved! Family can grow and blossom from a woman!

I just found this channel this morning as I’m sitting outside needing to be with nature because I’m struggling with some things that have upset me with work. I’ve always been a scheduled person. I’ve always been able to find a way to balance my life keep my home clean, make great meals. But I struggle with eating. I go up and down with it. I have periods where I lose weight I keep the weight down for a while and then I gain weight back. And all these years I forgot that not controlling what I eat is glutinous. I needed that message as I struggle right now with losing weight. Thank you for the channel.

God willing, if and when he blesses me with a husband, I want to be ready and prepared for the work that entails. Your videos are so practical and biblically solid, I’m feeling really edified and grateful I found them. I recently just bought the original print of Fascinating Womanhood as well, so I gotta get on that and read it. Thank you!

You have inspired me! I am not Christian, but I am a young wife soon to be a first time mother. My biggest struggle so far is with homemaking especially experiencing a difficult pregnancy. According to my spirituality prayer is also quite important and just last night my husband and I started praying together - I have to admit that the work of asking for help and being honest with myself has done a difference in how I feel and how I view my responsibility as a woman and a wife.

Thanks for this content! I am currently working on my health it's been a up and down battle. In my family on both sides it appears extra weight is applauded and associated with good cooking. I am a decent cook, more healthier foods than what I was raised on and mother to one. I know I do not want to battle high blood pressure, diabetes high cholesterol. At the start of this year, I joined a weight loss program with my job and I am grateful for the process. I am looking at my weight loss journey this time around as a life long journey. I love the authentic way you shared about your family weight and tips paired with the expounding of the portion of the book shared. Thank you

Your video showed up as I was thinking about how hard food addiction has been for me. I’ve had my third baby this year, and every time I have a baby it’s so hard to lose all the weight. I stress eat, and that compounds the issue. I’m praying for strength to drop the addiction and find another way to comfort myself during stress. I resent how hard my work is and that we can’t afford for me to focus solely on the children, and I use it as a cop out to overeat. Thank you for your video. It’s encouraging me to keep trying.

When I am tired from all the mom things I ask myself How do athletes do it? How do they work so hard and end up stronger after? Yet as I mom I tell myself that I am wearing myself out. That is what I found it’s what I was telling myself about my work. I started setting goals around housework, measuring my progress, and believing that I am getting stronger from this job.

Great words! My thoughts on this video: *Indeed - we can put as much dedication into becoming a better housemaker and mother as we did (or do) in our careers. *Having a well thought out plan is really helpful. I personally discovered Fly lady system - the woman behind it is christian - it is a daily and weekly routine of upkeeping your home and there is an app that lists tasks grouped for areas of your house. It is so much easier having this list in front of me since some of these tasks I almost never did before on a regular basis (more detailed cleaning). *building character and will power is directly linked to self confidence. The more you accomplish, the stronger you feel. This is what I I working on. Thank you for the video
