Finally someone is talking about deep-sea mining (and not just Greenpeace). We've already been destroying the environment in countless of other ways, there must be a limit somewhere. We cannot allow the mining to continue.

Do you have the money to counter this? The only way to stop this sort of thing is to make it non-profitable for anyone. Funnily enough, that wasn't the only or even most recent event where Seine got filled with dead people. In the 1961"Massacre of Paris" the French National Police murdered an estimated 300 Algerians during a protest. Some got beaten to death, while others drowned, as the cops threw them into the river. Bodies were washing up the banks for weeks after the massacre. The French government denied the event for 37 years, only acknowledging 40 deaths in 1998.

About the Olympics, there is a lot that is not addressed here, like the fact that Parisian students were offered 100€ and tickets to one game of their choosing in exchange for... Giving up their apartment during the game to athletes and visitors. Also, some parts of Paris will be closed to the general public during the opening ceremony. And the already overworked public transport system is going to be even more overworked during the events, at the detriment of the Parisians and for the relative enjoyment of the tourists.
