It's so funny that getting an update from Noraly has become a daily feature of my life. It's like getting a call from my young daughter from abroad. Wonderful videos! I spent 2003-2005 in Tajikistan. Made the drive to Khorog and further north to Murgab about five times. Amazing scenery. The Japanese and Turks had begun paving the road between Dushanbe and Khorog back then working in both directions from Khalykum if I remember correctly. Looks like they never finished it. Most desolate stretch of road I've ever driven is that from Khorog to Murgab. From Murgab you can push on to the Fergana valley and Kyrgyzstan, making a loop to Osh then proceed on to Khojand and back south to Dushanbe. Keep up the great videos and be safe, Itchy!

I backpack in the US, a lot! I’m on foot traveling 1000’s of miles for months at a time. I have not only been stopped and given food and drink but taken into peoples homes and offered the use of their vehicles. They expected nothing in return. As I travel, (especially on foot) I am astounded at people’s openness and generosity. It is the same all over the world no matter where I’ve been...we all want the same thing...the ability to live peacefully and to take care of our families and our community.

Great videos, you've gotten me hooked on them. Enjoy your time in Tajikistan, and get ready for Kyrgyzstan, it's amazing too! I've done your trip since Iran in reverse, starting in China, then Mongolia, Russia, Kazakstan ect. If I can make a recommendation, don't head straight for Bishkek after Osh. Head in the direction of Naryn, and really soak in all the lakes and mountains while you can! Anyhow, have fun out there, and props to you for finding enough bandwidth to upload videos so often. I'd love to know your secret! :)

Look at that view of that little restaurant at 5:50, most five star restaurants and hotels would kill for a view like that. Amazing, just amazing must be even more great to be there and have that trip.

It is for drinking according to the local concepts but travellers should avoid. As travellers are not used to the local "bugs" while the natives are. I personally don't drink it because animal graze upstream so you never know when was it contaminated
