Just quick note because of the A-50 vs S-200. Likely it was modified S-200. Likely S-200's Dubna missile is used with a different radar. Deploying on field then leave quickly with the original EQ would be impossible. Deploying on field then leave quickly with the original EQ would be impossible.

Later versions of the S-200's missiles are compatible with S-300 radars and fire control systems, and have the required range.

So you think it's a S200 with a new seeker head. "FrankenSAM" with for example an AIM 120 radar seeker. And Ukraine somehow got the information that an A50 was flying in that area. And the modified S200 was then shot in the general direction, and in the end it could use its active guidance. Semms plausible. What do you think about the theory of friendly fire. On the one hand I can't imagine Russia to be that incompetent of shooting down their own A50. I mean what Ukrainian airplane do they expect if they find an Transport plane sized target over their own territory? On the other hand it's Russia, and maybe the IFF was not functioning and some sleep deprived untrained Russian accidentally shot it down. Maybe because they are under constant panic of ukrainian cruise missile attacks. And the videos we see don't really give a clue on what missile was used (but I am by no means an expert)

I like how detailed and complete your videos are, many military channels seem to try to simplify things to reach a larger audience which I think is a shame.

Most of them not only "simplify" the thigs but contain lots of errors or they are totally inaccurate. It is painful to see when for ex. the Real Engineer channel said totally inaccurate things about PESA radar in its latest video. Or this. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y4qep7Stqpeylbw.html Literally is almost everything is inaccurate and not even the most basic things are mentioned. While somehow these very low quality videos are watched by the masses... I guess because of the nice CGI...

One big problem with the SA 5 is that when it misses...which is near 100 percent of the time, it tends to end up in some VERY unwanted places. Syria has spammed the whole of the middle east and part of the Med with SA5 missiles that missed and came down in unfortunate spots...like Cyprus and Jordan

Not exactly. If a target goes under the radar horizon any missile (except some ARH in terminal phase) would miss. Using this aspect even an MIM-104 GEM-T is garbage because it is 100% miss the target when it goes under the radar horizon. Remember when the F-16I was downed? They did not break in time to their payload deliver. No matter any magic ECM and idea the stone age S-200 Vega hit the target...
