Unboxing and overview of the new Ryobi FVL51K USB Lithium battery powered flash light!
Ryobi's newest flash light featuring their new USB Lithium 4V 2Ah battery!
This little guy needs to be in everyone’s home! It’s extremely light, coming in at just 6oz and is roughly 6in long. The USB lithium battery is a breeze to charge and install, however the battery must be removed every time you want to charge the battery. This is slightly annoying, but it does provide the flashlight with water and dust resistance (IP54). The battery charges with an included USB-C cable (Cord length is approx. 19"), however no power brick is included, so you will need one of those or a USB-A socket. What’s most impressive of the flashlight is the power output, on the high setting I can easily see across my yard which is roughly 40ft from fence to fence without any issues. The flashlight also features a belt clip as well as a squared designed to help reduce it from rolling away if you set it down. I plan on going back and picking up a few more of these to replace all the flashlights in the house.

Great review brother

Appreciate it!
Nice overview. Is there a way to know when the battery is low before having to plug it in? It seems the only way to see a light indicator is if you plug it in first? This seems a bit undesirable if the only way to know is when it shuts off while in use. Thanks.

The issue with the smaller 2ah batteries is that there's no charge indicator like on the 18v/40v. The light should Flash a couple of times before it fully dies like other ryobi lights that I have. But I haven't taken this one to empty yet.

I don't think so

Appreciate the kind words! The flash light should be available at the Home Depot within a couple of weeks.
How long will the battery last between charges? This seems like a good replacement for my current light which uses 123 batteries and about as powerful.

About 18hrs of use on low.
I can’t find the ratchets anywhere, are they not out yet? I don’t like the old one with the bigger batteries. This looks more compact

The ratchets?
A little bit disappointing there is no zoom focus. Sometimes you want a wide light or a narrow brighter beam of light ... but no option on this.

Yea, that surprised me too. I constantly try to do it too as there's a piece at the end that feels like it would move to allow it.
Does it feel robust? Could it get splashed a bit?

Yea, feels solid and we'll made. I wouldn't be concerned dropping it or getting it splashed
Why does no one send the damn power block anymore?!?

Guess they figure we all have a huge collection from other devices
