My old Skil died today, so I went out to Home Depot and bought one of these for the same reason you did. The other plus was it was in stock. There were less expensive sanders, but they would have taken a couple days to come in at Walmart or Lowes. I have a bunch of Ryobi too, so this will fit right in. I will always be using it near a power outlet, so not being able to use a battery is not a negative.

So is everyone having problems with the belt moving??? I think I’m going to return mine....

The front knob is not a tensioner it’s to align the belt!

Love my corded belt sander....sometimes the belts aren't square and drift, not always the tools fault😉

Hey there, thanks for this info. I thought it was a quirk with the tool, but good to know that belts aren't always square. Appreciate it!

@@eimartin 35 years building guitars and other woodworks, I have had the most reliable tools go whacky on me, sometimes it is the tools, but many times it's a bit, blade, or even sandpaper, ya just never know. Have fun with it sire. Going to HD today to get the batteries and free trim router😆

Do not buy this Ryobi sander, IT IS CRAP. The motor will burn after just a few hours of use.
