By “training” 3 hrs daily, I’m sure they meant learning fight sequences, technique, lifting, etc. I highly doubt they meant solely lifting 3 hrs daily.

Maybe but if you watch more of these celeb transformation videos in other examples they specifically say 3 or more hours of actual weight training everyday, for example jason mamoa. Its all the same nonsense, the time frame the training the diet non of it makes sense. They are leaving out the most important detail, steriods

kelkev85 Steve reeves worked out for multiple hours per day. It’s not like they spend the entire time under load. I’m sure quite a bit of it consists of rest between sets, etc. I think it’s a bit dubious to simply put out there that all these actors are on gear.

Ive been working out full body hard/high volume 2 hours 30 mins every other day since 2009. I recover fine naturally. I obviously didn't start out training that much I built up to it. Ryan was probably already a hard worker in the gym before he even started this project, he already had a great physique. he's probably been working out since he was a kid.

I know he wasn’t on roids because he was 19 when I trained him and he was very naive on the topic and thought it was give him a heart attack. Regardless, I had him training with me on hypertrophy based regiment, no extra cardio, high caloric intake. 6 months I took him from 130 to 165. Now I know a decent amount of this was added body fat but you couldn’t tell due to his already lean body. I’m sure another decent amount was the added water weight since he was not taking in enough before lifting. But he filled out nicely and was a complete beginner so probably added 8-10 pounds of lean mass.

Your sense of size goes out the window for the most part when you look at someone on a screen, you're only able to see how big an object is compared to another now how big they really are. Facts. I’ve noticed it with Deadpool, and it’s extremely noticeable with Blade. His chest, arms, etc still don’t look big, but his shoulders stand out a lot. Since shoulders are the main thing that determines width, big shoulders naturally make you look big even if your arms and chest aren’t anything special.

I think most of the time those 'we trained 4 hours a day 7 days a week' claims are nothing more than hyperbole. Actors/studios think they can get away with saying this because the average person has no idea what is physically possible. Anybody who thinks the Rock is natural is out of his goddamn fuckin mind. Mamoa is on gear as well, nowadays you can expect 99% of everybody out there who os buff and/or shredded to be on some sorta gear. There is just soo many ppl out there on roids that it get's overlooked. What I mean is that people can't believe "everybody" is on roids hence y they think such physiques are attainable naturally because you can't be sure anymore, not comprehending that the reality of the matter is that it is simply NOT attainable in a natural way no matter how hard you train and how well steuctured your diet is. At a certain point you meet your limitations + you can't hold on to rhat sort of form/muscle naturally over an extended period of time. This movie was made 15 years ago, I think it shows how far training and nutrition have come in that time more than anything. That "ignorant Bro diet/training regimen" was industry standard 15 years ago. People thought fat was evil back then because the Sugar Corporations still had the "low fat" marketing in full swing. What they were doing was what was considered "optimal" during that period. KZread wasn't even around back then. Keep in mind historical context. Those were the "boiled chicken and brown rice 6 times a day" days.

I think when people like directors say "he trained for 4 hours a day 7 days a week for three months" they are also including the stunt work, fight choreography and weapons training which while not nothing, is certainly not the same as throwing dumbells around for 4 hours. maybe its more like an hour of working out, a meal and "suppliements", technical film work for an hour, lunch, some more technical film work, some food, another workout, wrap for the day. its like when i did basic training at 19, get up at 5am, sort your kit for inspection, breakfast, PT, classroom, drill, some tactical stuff, marching around, some other BS, some more weapons training etc, etc, with some more meals thrown in. They're long hard days, you burn through calories like fire, you literally can't eat enough and you still lose weight, but its not balls to the wall for 12 hours, but to the unititiated it must seem like the 12 labours of Heracles.
