Try to find alloys! The rears are alloys. I had a set of steelies and they are wildly heavy. These weigh roughly 10 lbs
Seems like the initial failure was more because the owner increased bending load and decreased fatigue strength on factory bracket by mounting those extensions.

That’s a good point. It seems it’s necessary to use those brackets to do any sort of coil over conversion though so I imagine that platform as a whole when being modified isn’t much of a how but a when it will break

@@ChrisSadowski Totally agree, changing loads on components without strenghening the load path is a big no-no. I broke a set of uprights that way. For this particular problem I think the best course of action would be to close the mount from the bottom as well (if you look 9:03 you can see inside the bracket). That way you have two strong welds the furthest away from neutral axis of the bracket -> maximum strengh. Or in other words, where the bracket attaches to the axle its cross-section is a rectangle instead of U shape as of now.

@@Johnny_OSGthe mount def plays a big part of it breaking. But on stock rear set ups they break plenty. A lot of the drift first gen owners contacted me saying they’ve all done the same.
I don't think an FB could sound quiet if you put 4 mufflers on it. 😄
