Sometimes I feel bad I didn't keep my FB... but seeing how much more logical the 13b swap is... I can tell you wouldn't want to keep up a BONE STOCK RATS NEST OF VACUUM LINES 12a in California where it has to pass smog every 2 years either....

There is a lot of debate on this. The rotary is supposed to burn some oil (that's what the omp is for) and it was designed to burn conventional oil. Synthetic oils 'could' leave behind residue that doesn't burn off, leading to a buildup of residue in the combustion chamber which can cause the apex seals to bind... or maybe not. The point is Mazda only ever tested conventional oil in the engine. Synthetic oils can have various proprietary formulas which may or may not leave residue behind when they burn. The point is, do you want your engine to be a Guinea pig? Assuming not, here's what you do: either run conventional oil, or do a remote feed to the OMP so the OMP doesn't inject engine oil. That gives you the best of both worlds because you can run full synthetic in the oil pan and inject 2 stroke oil into the combustion chamber, which burns more cleanly than conventional oil and is less damaging to your catalytic converter (assuming you have them). If you are using stock OMP I'd just run conventional oil and change it every 3k miles. Mazda really should have designed the engines to take 2 stroke oil for the OMP from the get-go, but they were afraid adding another fluid the owners have to worry about and top off would turn off buyers. So to save the 1st owner from learning some mechanical engineering, they made life worse for the second hand market.

To pushstart a rotary it would have to be going 70mph and dropped into third gear, the starters on rotaries rotate really fast compared to others.
