@@matt6951 I'm interested to see because for a 10k budget you can't really build either engine to have high power. A junkyard LS with a turbo slapped on it is also not reliable.

@@dan.r9220 who says they aren't reliable, a junk yard ls can make 700 and be reliable as hell. In a 2800lb s10 that's plenty. They could turn it up to 1000 for some hero passes and smoke a rotary car.

I think literally it was the time frame. I'm on San Diego and the week it was cloudy? We where stable around the 60s so if this was morning? Maybe high 50s so that's Hoodie weather esp for a skinny boi

@@alecalmeter5751 Here in Oregon you can get them under 1000 pretty commonly. This one doesn't run so 400 seems about right. Also California smog laws makes people sell old/non-running cars for cheap quite often.

Building my 82 GSL right now. Literally building it to shred with all my favorite Rotary Papi's! I am the guy that got his 84'fb ran over by a snow plow in January. Bought another one and have been prepping for the build. It will be done by my birthday 4/21/2020 at the latest. Really hoping you guys will dig it when it is done. It's my 4th first gen and first real build. Staying rotary.

Been watching og hoonigan and you guy's have got so much better on camera and more comfortable was cool to see the growth

Too bad the bed is thrashed.... he could sell it... hopefully he can sell some of the parts.... because without the bed and the hood he could save weight and get more for the budget. Luckily nothing is cheap with a rotary... so Vargas will have most of his budget in that... itll be interesting

I absolutely adore the first-gens. I don’t think they’re ugly at all. There’s something about the rear three-quarter with all the glass and the solid wedge shape that I can’t help but love. They’re incredibly under-appreciated and under-rated, especially when you consider their racing pedigree. Most successful IMSA racer of all time, several successful Group B appearances, competed in the Le Mans 24h every year they raced, won the Spa 24h. Rally, road racing, drag racing, time attack - I’ve seen them do it all - and win! Shame they’re so under-appreciated and get bashed on so much. They’re much better than they get credit for.

Good luck Vargas! Lots of work ahead of you but I think you can make it happen, especially with e85. gonna be a bit sketchy to drive a light chassis with the power you need for a 10 second car. I know with my $1,000 budget 240z rust bucket ka24de turbo drag car it was spinning tires in 3rd, IDK what it did in the 1/4, but it was breaking into the 6 second range in the 1/8th and that car was about 1,900 lbs like your setup! I am SOOOOO stoked you are sticking with a JDM motor, I was worried the import would end up swapping in a domestic v8. That would have not been so fun to watch. The heart is Japanese so I'm excited to watch the episiodes even more!
