RV Camper Slide Out Fix, BAL Accu-slide Fix!!

Ойын-сауық

This video documents and shows how to install an additional roller option to take the strain off the gear box on the Accu-Slide System on Keystone RV's. It has been a known issue that over time the Gearboxes strip out and the slides stop working costing $100's of dollars in repairs or potential to leave you stranded with a stuck out slide.
Update 8-3-21: You can order the rollers through the website www.Dyersonline.com $25.99 each and $25.99 flat rate shipping! or Call them 623-266-3022
A few points to touch on:
-The over all time to install was about 30 minutes per slide
-Make sure you measure the slide bar and order the correct part.
-The part numbers listed are from BAL, Keystone has their own internal part number for the 2 different sizes of rollers
-You cannot order from BAL or Keystone Directly. I had to go through my dealership and have them order them for me. Total cost was $121 for 7 rollers plus shipping. Keystone shipped them directly to me
-Lippert Components also makes a roller (J36) but it is not compatible with most of the Keystone Slides as it is too tall, which is why they have their own roller options

    Just watched for about the fourth time! Great video, very helpful. I might add that I ordered directly from BAL (with the part number you have listed for the 3/4") through their website and their cost was $21.00 each plus shipping and I received them in 2 days via standard UPS ground shipping. This is as of Oct 2, 2023.

    I recently added these rollers to my 2016 33' travel trailer. It is an ultra-light model, and the Accu-Slide system really wasn't up to the size and weight of our dining room/couch slide out. Over time the system began to move worse and worse, and no amount of cable adjustments and lubrication helped. I elected to add three rollers to my slide-out. The install went just about as easily as shown in the video, and the slide-out moves MUCH better now. Thanks for the helpful advice!

    I did this to my 12 foot kitchen slide. The rollers I bought lifted my slide probably a 1/4 higher then it originally was. It lets in cold air but it sure works better now. I did add another rubber seal piece over the roller area but it still lets in air when its cold. I live in Texas so its not really much of an issue. I did mine probably close to two years ago now and we use are RV a lot so its held up well and no major wear under where the rollers roll on the bottom as of yet. Its a must do if you don't have rollers and only a wear bar.

    Hi, thanks for making this video, extremely helpful. I have all the parts and am hoping to do the rollers on our Bullet. I got under ours and was looking around where the rollers screw into and it’s not like I thought at all. I figured it would be screwing through steel but now I think I realize that you use a more aggressive screws like tapcons because it’s not going into any metal. Is that correct? Thanks!

    Great video and very helpful. I measured my wear bar at 3/4 inch and received the exact same roller type as shown in your video. These are fantastic, solid and well-made units. Question : did you have to saw out a section of the wear bar to make the short flat part of the L-Shaped bracket sit snugly or was there enough room. Some videos, show owners using a different type of roller and they have to saw out a section of the wear bar/dust seal etc. Because these rollers extend out from the side wall perhaps it doesn't need such surgery to the weather strip/wear bar?Tthanks for any help you can give.

    Hi. thanks for posting all of this!!!! Question, are there instructions? I am wondering, once the slide is jacked up, how do you know where to mount the roller (how far up and down), to have it be just a hair taller than the wear bar, but not too high. Also, to have it high enough, so that when the weight of the slide is back on the rollers, its still above the wear bars. Thanks!!

  • @CollaGoUnLTD

    @CollaGoUnLTD

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Les, the roller is on an upside down L bracket so as long as you measure the proper height wear bar, and buy the corresponding roller and bracket, when you mount the roller it will stick up above the wear bar just a little bit. There is no having to measure up or down as to the height of where it has to mount. As far as spacing on the slide, you want them around 5-10” from the ends of the slide and then spaced evenly in the middle of the slide. Hope this helps!
